Earthy, fruity aromas. This beer is dark cherry coloured. Flavours comprise berry fruit and earthiness with chocolate smoothness. A good strong porter.

Casl at The Cask and Barrel Southside. Dark brown with a red tinge and a cream head. Aroma of fruit and sweet malt. Flavour is similar. Roasted malt and plum. Hoppy too. Not bad. Doesn’t taste much like a porter.

UPDATED: SEP 7, 2011 (Bottled) On my blasted quest to reach 100 Porters on my stats this one will be one of the lowest Porter scores ive given when reflecting . I’m not driven by stats on a beersite , but being a Londoner born I feel cosmically linked to the Porter style and obligated to hunt them . This offering was subdued and tired ,dark ruby , with a richness ,choco textures and coffee roast ....The volume is on mute in this stuff.

Clear amber with a medium beige head. Sweet aroma with roasted malt, caramel and chocolate notes. Flavour had roasted malt, caramel and pine. Off course it had plenty of hops and is finished quite bitter. My stile of porter.

Bottle, 5.0%. Mild aniseed aroma, hint of aniseed. Clear dark brown colour, red shine. Very small off-white head. The flavour is very slightly roasted and has a faint hint of aniseed. Tastes more of a Dunkel than a porter. But OK at that.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of madmitch76. Pours a deep dark amber with an off-white head. Sweet burned caramel in the nose. Medium body, roasted malts and fruit with a whiff of metal. Subdued bitterness. Not much of a Porter - closer to a Schwarzbier. 200210
