2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
on tap-pours without a head and with copper color with effervescence. Aroma is very sweet, fruit, malt. Taste is plum, sweet, syrupy, lots of medium malt. Finishes with good carbonation. Too sweet for me on a regular basis, OK for one & sipping it.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap at the brewpub 2/19/06. Listed as 24 Plato at the brewpub. Snifter-sized sample. Grapey wine-like grape juice aroma with floral bouquets. Strange flower shop/grape aroma. Moderately hazy garnet-amber color with a small quickly dissipating light tan head. Sweet, sugary start with lots of grapiness. Middle has a little more vinousness and some peppery notes. Alcohol is hidden well, but this is just a really awkward floral barleywine. Hops are not present. This beer is just jumbled. Another less than impressive brew.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured into a snifter. Pours dark with a thin tan/brown head. Definitely an English style barley wine with some nice fruity notes on the nose. Tastes buttery and chewy with some nice cognac notes and berries (blueberries). Finishes strong with a faint warming alcohol note.
