Shared a can of this with Rob in Brussels. What a contrast to all the Belgian stuff. Really grim. Rotting eggs, grass, straw and not much more. Overly carbonated. Really horrid.

500ml can. Pours a chemical lager yellow with a moderate head that lasted longer than I expected, but not very long. Aroma is euro-lager funk, but no skunkiness, likely due to being in a can. Taste is very lagery, wet grain and cardboard. Some earthy bitterness on the finish so it looks like there might actually be some hops in it. Not quite watery the palate is clean even if it isn’t particularly crisp. Overall, slightly notable earthy hops in this one.

500mL can from the LCBO. Pours a nice gold with a small white head. Aroma isn’t even that bad, some cereal grainy sweetness and peppery notes. Flavour is also decent, quite clean for something I thought would be riddled with adjuncts. Pale malts with some tinny hop bite in the finish. Lingering maltyness. Pretty drinkable on a humid summer night, and at a very good price I could actually see myself purchasing this again.

Can thanks to Kermis. Pours clear golden. Aroma is straw and malts. Not much. Taste is light bitter and light sweet. Light body and average carbonation.

Possibly the worst beer I’ve ever had. Purchased in a Romanian shop just a couple of doors down from Brasserie Cantillon so it was quite a contrast! I don’t even know how to describe it apart from vile.

500mL can at the LCBO. 4.8%. Clear watery yellow pour, very pale, with an bubbly white foam that oozes out of the can. Aroma is light malts and extremely grainy, mild hoppiness. Taste is very bland, watery, with a macro lager vibe running right through. No crisp bitter hop edge, not even a pleasant bubbly mouthfeel. Bland and boring...

Can from LCBO. Clear golden with a medium foamy white head with average retention. Aroma is grain, moderate alcohol and herbs. Flavor is malt, astringency, harsh flavor I can’t identify, metal, cardboard and a moderately bitter finish. Thin body with a watery mouthfeel.

I tried this beer on January 7, 2011 after purchasing from one of my local LCBO outlets. The beer poured a translucent pale gold with a very thin white head. The aroma was grainy malt and some floral hops. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was grainy malt, and overly bitter hops.

Head: white, medium, frothy, avg. retention. Colour: pale yellow, clear. Aroma: malt, grain. Taste: malt sweetness, a touch of hops in the finish. A standard sweetish lager, no off-flavours thankfully.

Slayer85 (1051) - Firenze, ITALY - JUN 6, 2011
Bottle (5% ABV). A clear pale golden beer with an average sized, frothy/fizzy, mostly diminishing white head. The aroma is lightly malty and lightly hoppy, with notes of bread and grass. The flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture, fizzy carbonation, dry finish with almost medium bitterness. Surprisingly not skunky, fairly clean instead, just useless and forgettable.
