UPDATED: AUG 25, 2012 Can from supermarket in Cyprus. Pale yellow with small head. Inoffensive and fairly clean swill, even if tasteless and boring. 3-2-3-2-6 = 1.6/...........re-rate in Brasov, Romania. Standard gold, slim stable head Aroma has hint of lemonbalm and the flavors have solid pale malts and finish with brisk, nicely bitter hops. Highly drinkable 3.5.3.6.12

Bottle from Imro - with many thanks for my new country tick! Pours out in a clear golden colour with low head and medium body. Nose of hops and hay. Taste of mild hops, mild malt, apples, hay and greens. Sweetish finish. Absolutely easy to drink, refreshing and nice. Solid Lager.

Can. I wasnít expecting much but it was pretty OK. Dry and refreshing Aroma and taste malty with intesne herbal hoppiness. Bitterness medium - low, but still high for a pale lager.

Bottle: Clear, pale golden to golden, smaller loose white head; light to moderate dryish pale-malty nose with a light grassy hoppy aroma; light to moderate bitter-sweet flavour, pretty light bodied; slightly lingering dryish grassy finish. Quite good, definitely better than the dutch Heineken products.......

(bottle) Clear, pale golden colour with a blond and short foamy head. Slightly sweet and grainy malty aroma with a grassy hoppy touch. Sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a slightly harsh carbonation. Dry pale malt character with grainy spots; dry-ish bitter-sweet finish. Probably better than Heineken NL. 12.I.11

can. Poured clear pale straw coloured with a receding white head. Light grainy aroma. Mouthfeel is light, clean, a bit dry finishing. Bready pale malt flavour, slighty spicy hop finish.

Can from Istanbul Supermarket, Smethwick. Notes of cinder toffee. Other notes of cellophane wrapping, perhaps enclosing some flowers, which are being taken to a brassy paramour at work. Always a bit risky making a move on someone at work. Anyway, this Romanian lad is friskily fizzy, urbanely crisp and sheet ice-like; coupled with a hesitation of coco malt. The flavours are confidently low-key (i.e. there isnít that much flavour). But blow me, this is delicious - it tastes like that beer in Ice Cold in Alex - well earned. 3000 rates is nonsense of course - a meaningless milestone. And yet, oh and yet, itís also a chance to reassess oneís life progress. And this is where I am - live tweeting a can of Romanian Lager. Whisper it, but I think I just might have ímade ití. Top of the World, Ma.

I believe this is the first Romanian beer Iíve ever had. Itís a pale gold and reasonably crisp pilsner with a hint of hoppiness. Itís five-per-cent alcohol and would work best as a summer sipper.

UPDATED: OCT 29, 2012 2012 update: Golden and bright. Light aroma but the palate has a delicate spicy hop. Hints of malt. Decent, refreshing and relatively dry macro.

Original rating, 2011: Can from a random Eastern Euro grocer in Nicosia. Hazy light yellow. Smells a bit doughy. Low bitterness and vague minty, sugary hops but all told itís a clean, bland pale lager. Nothing going for it, but nothing wrong with it.
