Brewed from an original recipe which dates back to 1892, Ciucas beer bears the name of the mountain from which springs it’s most vital ingredient, pure mountain water.

Pours a clear golden color, topped with a nice creamy white head. The aroma is slightly unpleasant - some stinky malts. The taste is sweet at first, finishing with a bit of sourness. There’s some metallic feel in the aftertaste. Not the best one I’ve gotten from Romania.

Ciucas has a thick, spongy, white head, a clear, bubbly, straw appearance, and some ragged lacing left on the glass. The aroma is of sweet biscuit and a shade of grass, and the flavor is of sweet grain and some mildly bitter, grassy hops. Mouthfeel is on the light side, and Ciucas finishes crisp, refreshing, and tasty. RJT

Yeast aroma. White head. Clear pale yellow. Tangy lemony taste. mostly sour with slightly bitter background taste. Very clean tasting, very boring. Taste doesn’t linger at all, and no taste development. Not a good lager.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein goldgelbes Bier mit geringer Schaumkrone. Geruch leicht malzig, getreidig. Geschmack wässrig malzig, getreidig, minimale Bitterkeit.

Thanks to ciocanelu for this 0,5l can, 05.07.14 8.17:48
Pale golden in the glass with a white head. No smell. The beer starts grainy and smooth-watery. Highly drinkable. Hints of malt, mainly grain. Only a very subtle bitterness in the end. A bit sharp ending.
Nothing special and in the end a bit too sharp. --> 6/12/6/7

Can 500 ml from a romanian shop in Brussels. Into a pint, ABV 4.6% Clear golden yellow body, one finger of white froathy headd, diappearing almost immediately, leaving no lacing behind. Aroma of malts and other than that non existent. Sweet taste with malts and pretty mach that’s it. On the aftertaste a touuch of bitterness but not enough to make it even interesting. Thin body, okay carbonation. Overall very boring.

Pours pale golden, medium white creamy head, dissipates slowly, nice lacing. Aroma is cardboard forward, with notes of grass and grain. Flavor follows, light sweet, light bitter. Light body. I wonder what this would taste like aged in Night Train barrels?

Can @ Deans pale lager tasting, courtesy of Kermis. Pours another clear blonde beer with a quickly fading, white head on top. Light, malty aroma and grainy. Flavor is light sweet and kinda artificial. Boring and uninteresting, but not so bad..
