COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Birre rossa dal carattere fortemente luppolato. 16°

I luppoli ti sconvolgeranno…
American Amber Ale.

from Mondial de la Bière 2013, Mulhouse - cloudy amber-brown beer with a poor foam left; toasted biscuity maltiness with a fair hop presence; full-bodied and tasty; dry and very bitter; long and very hoppy finish where red fruity notes combine with the toasted malts - balanced and beautiful

A hazed amber ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, a nice biscuit malt with smooth floral hops, nice toffee and butterscotch. In mouth, a smooth biscuit malt with toffee notes, floral hops, menthol notes, very pleasant. Bottle at Mondiale 2012 , June 9 2012.

Bottle in Rome, purchased from Domus Birrae. Very hazy amber beer, tidy pale tan head. Light dry palate. The malt has some body and is slightly sour. A little hop bitterness brings up the rear. Dry finish. Pretty malty and somewhat clunky!

Bel colore ambrato carico, gasatura lieve, aroma molto variegato, di frutta esotica. Al palato si sentono fortemente i luppoli e poi il caramello. Finale amaro.

.33l bottle coming recommended by Beer Land Trilussa in Trastevere, Roma. Pours hazy yeasty dark with foamy brown head. Burnt sweets and sugar, toasted hops, rough mash-in. Body has all the flavors I want .. juicy bit, hops coming through and balanced sweet/bittering. But on the whole things are just a little out of place, from appearance to the final palate. I love the individual notes but they don’t add up to a great one.

Bottle sample at a tasting. Thanks Dror. Hazy red-amber color. Aroma has light hoppy notes, a bit of malt and cardboard. Sweetish flavor with a bit of malt and honey hints and a bitter finish. Medium-bodied. Seems old but still before the BBD.
