Dark cola like pour with a frothy, tan head. Aroma: roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, peat, slight chicory. Full bodied and flavoursome. Good carbonation. Again not a bad drop.

500 ml bottle from drink store. Deep brown, verging on black, big creamy foamy head. Roast malt, roasted barley and coffee nose. Flavour is milk chocolate, roasted malt and a bitter hop bite. Lovely creamy texture to this, velvety carbonation. Finish is long and roasty, with chocolate sweet notes. Delicious.

0.5 l bottle, thanks hanniku! Almost opaque reddish black color. Aromas of coffee, dark burnt fruits. Smooth roasty flavor with coffee, dark bread and and some dark fruits. Some nuts, chocolate and toffee in finish. Very drinkable and pleasant.

Bottle from Supervalu, Longford [170214]
Black, tan head that dissipates, little lacing
Aroma of roasted malts, soft burnt notes, bit earthy
Taste of roasted malts, dab of roast coffee, dry roast, bitter hop, very slight fruitiness, mainly soft burnt roast
Palate - Medium carb, light to medium body, a bit thin, slightly oily, fairly bitter roast palate. Finish as main flavour, rather with more burnt bitter ash roast, finish a tad over bitter

Woody brown, thin off white head. Light roast, composty nose. Gurgles of half brewed coffee from over roasted beans - dank pillow case milky malt, crubs of sweetness. Again clean, simple carbonation but this time maybe leaves a little to be desired. Creamy but watery at the same time. Finishes with a fine bitterness and linger of weak choc sweetness.

The first stout for ages I really enjoyed. Bit thin with some black coffee, some malt and roasted grain. Sweetish moments and high drinkability. Wonderful.

Bottle from Culchiem - many, many thanks for my first Northern Ireland tick, Mel :-)! The stout pours out of the (beautiful) bottle in a deep black colour with no real head and medium body. Aroma of malt, roast and espresso. Taste of light malt, chocolate, nuts, mild coffee and dark grains. Light watery and weak finish. Easy drinkable, nice - but just that touch too watery and thin for my taste. Not bad though.

Bottle. Very dark brown, average and mostly diminishing light brown head. Moderate malty and sweetish aroma, light roasted malt with light milk chocolate, faint hoppyness. Body is light to medium, malty and lightly sweetish flavor, light roasted malt and light milk chocolate. Finish is average, malty and dryish - lightly sweetish, some roasted malt with light milk chocolate, light hoppyness. OK roasted dry stout. Body is bit thin.
