This Irish dry stout has been handcrafted using only the finest ingredients to create a beer, full of character and of true Irish pedigree just like that of the ’immortal black’ Master McGrath.
A traditional dry stout, combining rich roasted malts with hints of coffee and dark fruit, balanced carefully by the earthy hops - smooth on the palate with a lingering dry finish!

Black opaque color, steady beige head. Aroma is ashy. toasted and a bit milky and even peaty. Light-bodied. Toasted with some tobacco flavors. Quite dry, almost a bit acidic. Quite watery aftertaste.

Cask at Pigs Ear BF 2012, London. Pours black-brown with a fine, beige foam head. Burnt brown bread nose. Light sweet flavor, some earth, toasted dark bread, faint cocoa. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Moderate cocoa finish, light roasted malts. Good balance. Decent brew.

Nice dark brown. Thin head. The aroma is chocolatey and cookieish. Soft, smooth and very chocolatey, with a lightly fruity character and a vague whiff of smoke in the finish.

Gravity Dispense at Pig’s Ear BF, London - 05/12/12. Mid black with a thin tan head what clears to the edges. Nose is cardboard, light roast malt, light soap, touch of rubber. Taste comprises light roast malts, hint of chocolate, roast barley. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry finish. Drinkable but very dull and uninspiring.

Lovely milk chocolatey aroma. Rich roasty body, smooth and milky palaye. Gentle burntness, very tasty. Some gentle stale coffee in the finish. Anna thinks the finish is more chocolatey, but for me it’s milky coffee.

Bottle at The Garrick, pours black with a small white head. Nose brings out lots of roast and some dry espresso. Flavour isn’t as great unfortunately, but still pleasant, with very lightly roasted malt and some espresso. Medium bodied and pleasant. Decent stuff.

Cask conditioned handpump GBBF 2011. A black headless beer. A very dry smoky ashtray like aroma which like the taste is possibly overpoweringly dry. Ashy in the mouth too. Has good intentions but by far the dryest stout I think I’ve ever had, and it’s a struggle.
