One of the Moosehead "Clancy's" line of "Craft" beers. A decent amber, with a malty nose and well balanced flavor.

Bottle. Clear amber with a large short lived head. Aroma is sweet malt. Flavour is lots of malt, taste and finish.

341 ml Bottle: BBD of 31 Jul 2013. I found it in Berlin and drank it in my hotel room out of a tumbler on 25 Feb 2013. Amber body with a good, full head of white bubbles. Nose and taste dominated my malty molasses: not overly strong, but the hops struggled to contain the sweetness. Caramel being the main flavour I detected. A bit too sweet and thin for a 5% ABV brew: OK but not really balanced or well made in my eyes.

Nawet smaczne Amber ale. Piwo koloru bursztyna, z trwałą pianą i wyraźnie zaznaczoną goryczką. Piwo wspaniale się komponuje z potrawami z indyka. Zapach kwiatowo-karmelowy.

Bottle. Pours clear amber with airy white head. Sweet aroma of malt and caramel. Barely discernible flavour of malt. Otherwise it tastes of nothing at all. Unpleasant, misplaced, dry aftertaste. It is my first Camadian beer to be rated. I sincerely hope something better will follow.

Aroma is one of beer’s most complex features. Aroma is propelled by lively CO2 and dampened by pillowy heads - especially nitrogen foam. Click on a term below to add it to your tasting note

341ml bottle. Clear dark golden to amber colour with small to average, frothy, minimally lacing, white head. Minimally sweet, slightly nuttily aroma. Taste is minimally to moderately sweet caramel malty, slightly dry hoppy, a nuttily touch.

Dank copper red brownish body clear, white creamy lacing head. Aroma vine, berries, malt, littel little licorice. Palate is soft slick soupy, carbonation flat and smooth. Taste is malty, watery with licorice notes. Finish malty watery with some roasty dryness in the taste. Pretty dull ale, OK for a drink or two but you won’t miss it.

Clear amber pour with an off white head. Aroma is floral and fruity. Flavour also fruity with a caramel malty backbone.

Copper colour, with very little aroma. Kind of sweet taste. Not much flavour. This was okay, but I won’t have it again.

Originally rated February 2006. Part of the craft beers from Moosehead, this one pours a dark amber colour with a good creamy head. Dissipates fast, but leaves great lacing. Carbonation is light with tiny bubbles, but consistent. The nose is real bitter and strong, like some alcohol and with notes of malt. Hints of coffee are definitely present with a very mild and watery mouthfeel and aftertaste. Decent dryness, with touches of smoke, apples and caramel. Good attempt at a craft beer, but way to watered down to succeed. Thanks to Plug for this one.
