COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
One of the Moosehead "Clancy's" line of "Craft" beers. A decent amber, with a malty nose and well balanced flavor.

Had this at The Carta restaurant on a visit to Chester. Dark amber gold, like corn syrup. A little appley, caramel, biscuit, with a boxboard dryness to finish. For a mainstream brewer attempting to craft a beer with character, I think its a success. I really liked this beer.

Clear amber pour with an off white head. Aroma is floral and fruity. Flavour also fruity with a caramel malty backbone.

Copper colour, with very little aroma. Kind of sweet taste. Not much flavour. This was okay, but I won’t have it again.

Originally rated February 2006. Part of the craft beers from Moosehead, this one pours a dark amber colour with a good creamy head. Dissipates fast, but leaves great lacing. Carbonation is light with tiny bubbles, but consistent. The nose is real bitter and strong, like some alcohol and with notes of malt. Hints of coffee are definitely present with a very mild and watery mouthfeel and aftertaste. Decent dryness, with touches of smoke, apples and caramel. Good attempt at a craft beer, but way to watered down to succeed. Thanks to Plug for this one.

On tap at our hotel bar in Saint John. Very light colored amber. Drinkable, somewhat buttery flavors. Not very interesting at all.

Draft at The Merchantman’s Pub in Charlottetown. I read a nice write-up on this place before our trip and expected them to have better and more beer. In fact, they have very little and it’s not worth listing as a Place on here. Anyway, this one pours a clear amber-ish gold color with a small head. Aroma of sweet malts and toasted sugar. Flavor of more sweet malts and lightly toasted sugar. Tastes stale and dull. Should have known it was a Moosehead beer. Has that old macro character.

Can from Mora2000. Clear orange color with a bubbly white head. Aroma is dry malt with lots of grainy notes. Flavor is very dry with a big watery quality. Not much to this at all. Finishes kind of bitter.
