The very first beer brewed by Claremont Craft Ales, Willow is a straightforward blonde ale. Pale straw in color, and clean and crisp in flavor, this is a go-to beer for those that want something light, simple, and tasty. Named in honor of the best blonde dog that ever lived.

Tap at CCA. Low haze straw pour with weak foam. Nose is odd: vinegar, apple. Taste is tangy, light sugar, some cloying density in finish. Flashes of peanut shell and plastic. Not great.

The pour is a clear yellow color with a small white head. Mild grass on the nose along with touches of biscuit malt malt. A corn-like aroma and almost a mild menthol note, though that could have just been some ambient aroma in the tasting room. Mild yeast and just very bland overall. The flavor is moderately sweet with some corn and biscuit notes. There’s a fair amount of grain husk some straw, and light bitterness on the finish.
