Cask; Seasonal - available December.
A pleasant well-balanced copper bitter, with a fruity taste and hoppy aroma. "A delightful beer for the time of year"

Cask conditioned @ Giddy Bridge (JDW), Soton. Some slightly floral hop and delicate malt but little flavour to interest. However despite being quite thin a suprisingly creamy body (not served via a sparkler) and quite drinkable.

Cask Handpump at the Penny Black, Northwich (JDW) 05/01/2006 Golden brown coloured and hoppy. Slightly rich on the palate with some sour fruit flavour. Slightly dry malt finish.

Cask handpull at Thomas Ingoldsby, Canterbury JDW. Deep copper with lasting beige head. Lots of malt. Hops are quite soft, but green and herby on end. Bit watery in mouth with more malt. Quite pleasant. Malty session beer

Cask (handpump), Penderels Oak (JDW), Holborn. More of a session bitter than a Christmas beer. Copper colour. Slightly sharp and very dry. An unusual mix of loads of dry malt and equally prominent citric hops. there’s not much depth to the flavour, but it really develops a lot more attack on the finish. The aftertaste is very dry, significantly astringent and lasts for ever. So, whilst it may be a session bitter, its certainly a distinctive one.

Cask at the Alexandra Hotel, Derby. Mid-brown, weak body, thin fruits but all rather moreish. Perhaps it’s that tang that Deep Black mentioned.
