COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A Non-Alcoholic beverage made the way beers have been made in Germany for centuries. Genuine, pure and natural. Claushaler is brewed according to the law that’s as unique as the beverage. The reinheitsgebot, which says that only the purest ingredients must be used - water, yeast, malt and hops - nothing else. Clausthaler, pure and clean with German taste.

A half-way decent beer for low alcohol. When I have need for this style, this beer is a safe bet for being drinkable.

Pours crystal clear amber. Mild bohemian hop aroma. Strong flavor for an NA. I really enjoyed this and can say that it stands up as a beer, not just an NA beer.

From the bottle poured a golden disappointment with a white head. It smelled of left over biscuits and tasted pretty much the same but with a twist of lemon. With no flavor, and not alcohol-why bother, but it looked good.

Bottle. I have never had, to my recollection, a non-alcoholic beer before and this one wasn’t absolutely horrendous as I imagined it would be. Spurred by wanting to join my husband in a beer on his birthday, but still being on the end of a detox diet, I went ahead and tried it out. It actually looked nice and golden with a foamy white head. Smells wheaty and slightly sour with a metallic hint. Tastes really sweet with a hint of metallic. Very carbonated with a sweet aftertaste.

Pours clear amber, no head. Aroma is dough and old caramel. Light sweetness with a rising bitter flavor. Bitter, somewhat flat across the tongue. All things considered, not a horrible brew. Is till think Clausthaler’s premium is a better brew.

Pours a solid golden color with a decent sized white head that displays moderate retention and minimal lace. Smells of skunk, corn, light bits of caramel, slightly bready malty aroma. If it weren’t for the skunk this wouldn’t smell half bad. Taste is bready and caramel malty with a hint of earth. Again not half bad. Thin body, spirited level of carbonation, bubbly foamy mouthfeel. Lacks any kind of body, tastes okay, if it weren’t for the style tick I would have never bought this. Not too bad for an alcohol free I guess.

Thanks to drabmuh for locking down this "#1 of style" tick for me. Served in a tulip. Pours a clear copper color with a single-finger off-white head that recedes somewhat quickly into a thin cap. Some slight spotty lacing. The nose brings forward a good amount of caramel; it smells like like caramel malt after being milled. Not so bad at all. A bit of graininess there as well. The flavor is much the same -- tastes just like caramel malt, though there isn’t much sweetness there. Just a touch actually. Medium body and good carbonation. Actually not a half-bad brew. Good job. amber malt and herbal hops. skunky light-struck flavor is so strong its hard to tell what’s underneath.

(12oz bottle best by 9-20-11 thanks to blutt59) pale yellow, very few white bubbles. Nose is skunky as hell from 2 feet away! Sweet, very bad, and butter. Taste is equally abominable (shout out to BMan1113VR), earthy, sugary, bitter and an extremely gross linger. One of the worst beers in recent memory.

One of the better N/A beers I’ve had. More flavor than some of the others. I will agree with one of the other raters that there is something reminiscent of tea. Lime helps some other N/A beers didn’t need it as much. A little sweet. Serving: Bottle

Clausthaler Golden Amber Pours medium coppery brown with a medium white head. Ok retention. Aroma is apples and grass. No hop note to speak of. Somewhat like Heineken, which is not a good thing. Grass notes abound. Flavor is not bad for a non-alcoholic brew. Slight funk with a mild bitter grass note. Clean finish. Best non-beer I’ve had. Take that Coors Cutter!
