A Non-Alcoholic beverage made the way beers have been made in Germany for centuries. Genuine, pure and natural. Claushaler is brewed according to the law thatís as unique as the beverage. The reinheitsgebot, which says that only the purest ingredients must be used - water, yeast, malt and hops - nothing else. Clausthaler, pure and clean with German taste.

UPDATED: MAR 30, 2004 Bottled Starts out kinda tasty as fizzy malt teas go. Pours amber under a thick head that looks slightly processed. A nice malty taste and, for once, a pleasing snootful of German hops. Then a strange barrage of off flavors and sugars sets in. It's nice that there's an NA beer that tries to make up for itself by adding some hops, but this still needs some work.

Bottle. Pours a light amber color. Some head but not much. Sweet aromas of caramel and something else..... Taste is kind of sweet and the caramel is there as well. A pretty good low alcohol beer.

355ml bottle. Hazy dirty amber body, small white head, decent retention and nice amount of lacing. Aroma of tomato juice, grains, honey, herbs. Taste of grains, sugar, a bit of bread, metallic herbal hops. Very decent for the style.

How: Bottle (355 ml) bought at …picerie LauziŤre. Split 2-ways.

>>> An half decent non-alcoholic beer because itís not skunky and it has a different profile from most widely available alcohol free beers... but also half bad because itís not the most enticing flavor profile and everything in this feel old and dirty (caramel, oxidation, old rag).

- Clear bright golden-amber with a medium white head, decent retention and little lacing. Good looking.
- It feels "tired" in both aroma and taste. Especially the hops, itís like they used old hops like in lambics. Weird, but not horrible.
- Itís good to have a non-skunky non-alcoholic beer.
- Thereís a dirtycaramel impression accentuated by a malt spiciness that I have some difficulties to describe other than it feels "dirty".
- Carbonation is rather low, so the flavors are a bit sticky.

Flavors: Dirty caramel, old hops, mineral notes, mild spiciness, old rag, oxidation.

Bottle. Tea like dark amber appearance with small creamy off-white head, toffee and rose aroma, high carbonation, metallic caramel taste with very little hops flavor, abrupt finish. Totally uninspiring.

Bottle at home. This is when getting g the 10 of every style is a bit of a chore. Pours ugly light copper with white foamy head. Nose is corn and metal. Tastes of caramel, light cherry juice, grains, metallic. Bitter and fairly non offensive.

pours clear dark golden, amber i guess, with a nice off-white cap, showing some retention and lacing. grassy oxidized hops, lightly toasted malts, wort moreover, maple syrup and caramel, soft bitter herbs, chalk. light carbonation, light body - oily, sweetish and chalky-grassy finish. like i wrote for the classic premium, minus the oxidition, this is really not that bad.

Pale clear amberish. Caramel and corn flake aroma. Tastes like carbonated grain. Light of course.

12oz bottle, thanks to chudwick... Best by on the back reads 08.2014. Looking forward to this one more than the typical Macro NAs Iíve been trying lately, as it calls itself an amber lager... Hopefully that means there will be flavor somewhere in this thing. Clear amber color, with an impressive thin white head. Couple bits of lace. Quite a bit of burnt popcorn flavor in this unfortunately... A flavor Iíve come to fear from stale NAs. Toasty malt over top of that. Light body. Kind of a smoother, sort of crisp light to moderate carbonation, just mildly rough, not too bad... Significantly better than average for this style. Moderate sweet taste, light bitter, and a light bite. Chalky finish. Overall, this isnít so bad, if not for the burnt popcorn taste... And that dominates... And that could be a result of being past itís best-by, and being stored in poor conditions at whatever store this was in. The green glass canít help either. Itís a factor thatís impossible to ignore though and thatís what contributes largely to my low score. Only got halfway through... Gets worse as I go

Pale amber and clear with a white head that faded quickly. Grass, hay and slight cardboard aromas. Taste is watered down malt and slight corn. Very thin mouthfeel with faint bittering on the end. A little urine like in aroma as it warmed.

Clear Amber Color, Medium Head Does Not Last, Light Lacing. Sweet Skunky Aroma. Malty, Sweet, Skunky, with Bitter Finish. Medium Body. Not as Watery as other NAs. Drinkable. Once You Get past Initial Skunkiness, It is. Decent Enough For What It Is.
