3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from State Line. Hazy coppery pour with 1-finger off-white head. Aroma of bready, caramel malt, subdued hops, citrus, melon, and mango. The taste was caramel malty, with a definite bready element, plus subdued fruity hops and some black peppery notes. The palate doesn’t have the complexity or balance of the elite APAs.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a red body with a fleeting head. The aroma is apple peels, a bit of bruised fruit and caramel. Not bad, but not exactly a top example of the style.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Poured a clear bright orange color, almost no head at all after the intitial fizzles. Lacing was absent. Aroma was strong caramel and some hops. Flavor was caramel, strong herbal hops (even some stale vegetable tones, although nothing was wrong with this bottle/beer), and oranges. Mouthfeel was typically carbonated, but somewhat too thick for a pale ale. Along with a sweet finish, this didn’t match my likings.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Just a plain old "beer" aroma. Not much to the flavor, tasted rather light actually. I never picked up the caramel accents, or any autumn fruit. It wasn’ t bad, and I could certainly drink more than one a night, but not something that I thin I’ll buy again.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Amber into the glass, with no head or lacing. A little caramel and sourdough to the nose. Flavors are light, and consist of malt and slight earthy citrus tones. Mouthfeel of crisp velvet.... (I know, the phrase looks weird to me, too.) Not bad... Not as complex as I may have wanted, but not bad.

Sweeter than I expected in these days of all hops all the time.Crisp, easy to drink with a nice malty touch. Keep up the good work.

Well, for starters I had this on tap at Camden Yards... ballpark beer is supposed to be crappy and lager, and this beer is neither. It went exceptionally well with my nachos and other ballpark fair, it was crisp, red, flavourful, and even nicely fruity in the nose. It isnt exceptional, but it is good.

Nothing all too exciting, but well made and damn if I wouldn’t drink this as a session beer all night. I’m looking forward to trying more beers from Clay Pipe as they seem to be on the right path.
