Bottle Pours a clear copper-orange with a good off white head. The head is lasting and laces nicely. Aroma is good. Some sweet floral hops with pine, and citrus. The carbination is good. Flavor is tasty, not as hoppy as I was hoping for but good. Nice balance of malts and ligjhtly bitter. Has an oily texture. The body is light to medium. The finish is okay and a pleasing aftertaste. Not a bad drinking beer.

Bottle from Stateline. Pours out a clear light copper color with slight citrus hops, light caramel and some biscuit malts. Taste is clean with some citrus and light floral hop notes, cereal/bready malts, and a slight touch of some sweetness. Average IPA.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear coppry amber with a small white short lived head. Aroma is mostly faint piney hops with some light grains. Taste is of floral perfumy hops upfront, slight biscuity malt, some citric hop finish, very slight hop bitterness. The taste is not bad, but I expected a lot more from such a big hop name.

Bottle via trade thanks to ben4321. Pours a mostly clear orangish-golden color with a nice lasting off-white head and good lacing. Aroma is sweet malt and somewhat muted pine/citrus hops, along with a tiny bit of grain. Flavor is fairly high on hop bitterness, but less so on hop aroma and flavor. Caramel and pale malts, fairly sweet, with some earth citrusy hops on the finish and long-lasting hop bitterness. Medium-bodied with a fairly dry finish and hop bitterness lingering. Overall an average IPA.

Bottle in DC. Nice orangey color with an off white head. Nose is sweet and kind of like pine candy with a little citrus. Taste comes through first as sweet, then the hops kick in bringing a bitterness across. Pretty unique and not too shabby. Nice.

Clear orange-brown color beneath a thin white head. Some grapefruit like hop aromas accompanied by cereal-like grains. Moderate bitterness, some citrus fruits and a bit of pine. Lightly sweet malts are in the background. This is actually a very well balanced IPA, and not the hop bomb that the name suggests. If that is your thing, this beer might be for you, but I prefer my IPAs a little more hop forward. All in all a decent beer though.

I have to give it up to the label on this beer, it just looks cool. I guess that is strange since it is a depiction of a mushroom cloud wreaking nuclear holocaust. Hmmm, I did love the end of terminator 3 when the missiles launched. Anyway, lets discuss the actual IPA. Nice orange color in my Killian’s (GASP!) nonic glass. very rocky, craggy white head. Very hoppy nose but I can’t tell what type of hops (I suck at that). Very good balanced flavor with hoppy bitterness but yet subdued. Good, bready flavor with a nice amount of hops but this is no hop bomb. Hop heads you will like this but it ain’t gonna blow your mind. The IPA’s from the east are definitely more balanced and sometimes that is a nice alternative to the West Coast pine juice I normally like. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 11-27-2007 03:19:15

brilliant copper colored bright orange pour with a short lived tannish off white head. the nose stinks of perfumy hops, flowers, pine, caramel malt and orange/citrus. the palate is on the sweetish side with little bitterness to balance it out. generic flavors of non-resinous pine, honey, citrus blossoms, earthy spice, grass, caramel malt and a finish which is not nearly dry enough. medium bodied, a bit thick from sugars with and average mouth feel. 6/3/6/3/14/3.2
