scraff (1703), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Jul 7, 2006 Deep clear orange, thin white creamy head. The nose had great elements of an American and English IPA throughout. Hoppy floral and earthy notes blend well with rich toasty caramel and toffee brittle tones. Continued warming brings touches of pine and butterscotch. A very nice change of pace from the west coast grapefruit / pine hop bomb. Flavor is very similar with loads of hop flavor (florals, earth) but without that razor sharp bite. Sweet malt plays a light supporting role. Medium bodied, prickly carbonation, hoppy finish. This will be a year round brew I can turn to in a heartbeat. Nice job Greg…. Brewer101 (161), New Jersey, USA Jun 13, 2008 this was a nice IPA for me. Not too overwhelming with the hops. Smooth and delicous. The pour was medium orange, no sediment, nice lacing. It was a really nice beer to drink. epf33 (183), Fairfax, Virginia, USA Mar 17, 2008 definitely very hoppy, it almost tastes like straight up hops, aftertaste is an herbal aftertaste, very unique jsquire (1904), St. Marys, Ohio, USA Nov 18, 2006 At the RFD party at RBSG ’06. I really liked this hop bomb. Orange amber color with a sticky white head. Sharp piney hop nose with pungent resin qualities. The resiny hops make the back of my mouth tighten. Orange rind, peach, apricot, apple, lots of fruity flavors that all tail off in a nice, long bitter finish. Good hop head beer. guzzler67 (1161), Hanover, Maryland, USA Aug 27, 2006 Dark amber appearance with a average size, off white head and good lacing. Piney, citrusy (grapefruit) aroma with a hint of spice. Hop infused taste with the resin and citrus characteristics of the style front and center. Well crafted, pleasantly bitter with a medium bodied, nicely carbonated mouthfeel.
