15th Anniversary swing-top.
Appearance: The body is a nice mahogany hue that is near opaque, no head just a thin ring.
Aroma: The aroma is a sweet complex mix of caramel, cherries, toffee, and booze, I could swear I smell some barrel notes of vanilla and maybe oak, but this isn’t barrel aged.
Taste: This is really heavy on the dark fruits, cherry or raisins, not much else here. Where is the complexity I got in the nose?
Palate: Flat and like juice, this is really missing in body and carbonation.
Overall: This started by missing marks when the swing-top didn’t exactly burst open, and was a pain to close. Then there’s the aroma which smells great, but in the taste there’s not much other than fruit notes. Lastly the body is just really lacking. I can not recommend this, it just misses so many marks.

Bottle thanks to a trade! Pours a clear deep amber red with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good sweet grains and caramel with a bit of grass and toffee underlying. Flavor has a good amount of caramel and grains with some toffee and a hint of pine. A bit boozy.

500ml, flip-top bottle from jtclockwork, thanks James! Pours a cloudy amber colored body with a thin, tan head that dissipates quickly and leaves a light lacing. Aroma is malty sweet with lots of caramel, cherry dark fruits, toffee-bread, and a light earth. Flavor is similar. Malty sweet with plenty of caramel, toffee-bread, and dark fruits. Some floral hops towards the end as this finishes sweet, but fairly dry and moderately bitter with some earth and alcohol warmth before leaving a lengthy aftertaste. Medium-full, smooth body and a very light carbonation. Overall, not bad, but a fairly straightforward barleywine. Pretty malty sweet with a good amount of dark fruits, but enough of a hop presence and dry finish to keep this from being cloying. Nothing special, but alright.

A murky reddish rosé barley wine with a thin lacing mocha head. In aroma, a beautiful vinous malt with loads of herbaceous hops, maderized treacle sugar, very nice. In mouth, a nice well aged barley wine with sweet candy sugar, light vinous notes, barley sugar, very nice. On tap at Barcade Brooklyn, Dec. 30 2011.

Bottle… Pours clear and ruby with a slight orange tint. The nose is fruity, malty and vinous – port, honey, caramel, dates and golden raisins. Full-bodied with an oily mouthfeel and soft carbonation. The flavor provides sweet caramel and fruity malts accompanied by nice, bouncy hops. Finishes luxuriant, malty and sweet. Bottle courtesy of jtclockwork!

A very nice Jersey beer which is saying something. Good looking amber reddish pour with a small head. The aroma is a load of fruit along with a bunch of malt. The flavor has the fruit and a ton of malt but has a nice hop balance. Good dry finish if just a bit sticky. A fall or winter beer for sure,
