MaiBockAddict (1498) - Good Beer Bar Deprived, New Jersey, USA - MAR 17, 2004
UPDATED: MAY 4, 2005 Tap. Clear orange with a slightly tan head. Aroma of hops, DMS( cooked vegetable), Diacetyl(butterscotch), oxidation (cardboard), all rolled together, t\yet not at ugh levels. Flavor is carmelly with a big hop bitterness, but the above aroma components are also slightly noticable in the flavor. I think this could be better, and this is nowhere on the level of the Nugget Nectar of Troeg’s.

Medium amber hue with good white head and solid lacing. The aroma hinted of fruits (apple, orange, and grapefruit), toasted buttery malts, floral hops, soapy yeast esters. The taste starts citric and bitter, more traditional than American IPA's. Undertone of sweet and buttery malts, a grassy nature. Touch of pine bitterness on the finish. The mouthfeel was average, enough body but lacked punch. Better than their ESB, but not great. Again, worth a taste or three if in the area only. (Growler)

This beer poured into the glass an amber color. The head was a cream color that the foam stayed to about ½ glass. The aroma had hints of citrus, grain, malt and of course hops. The taste was citrus hops with hints of malt and grains, but as they slip away the hops take back over again, but not harshly. This is a pretty smooth tasting beer. I wish I could have gotten a bigger glass and had more of the experience.

Very awesome IPA, dark amber to copper in color, nice lacy head, lots of floral tones in the nose, great spicy & hoppy taste, good malty finish, overall an excellent IPA

Kind of sweet; chewy flavours but lacking in hop for my taste, especially on the nose.

Well balanced, good malt/hop flavour. Nice fruit notes (grapefruit, apple). An overall excellent IPA.
