2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 trapped (336) - TURKEY - MAR 29, 2013
Bottle. Pours dark brown with reddish tint, very small off-white foamy head that disappears almost immediately, caramel aroma, slightly sweet with a hint of cherry, low carbonation, abrupt finish. A bit weak for my taste.
1.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20 EithCubes (4199) - New Jersey, USA - MAR 18, 2013
Bottle. Nose is very sweet, fruity with faint earthy caramel and yeast. Pours deep chestnut leaning into pitch with a large frothy tan head. Taste is lightly sweet and strongly sour, so strongly that I wonder if it was intentional (I’ve never had an unintentionally infected beer this sour). Aggressive carbonation, jammy fruit, no bitterness, hint of yeast. Cleansed palate, that’s for sure. Medium body. Be happy to have another go.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 HighlanderOne (881) - Bergen County, New Jersey, USA - MAR 16, 2013
Poured from bottle. Smells like honey nut Cheerios. Dark mahogany with
a reddish tiny, really no head. Nut flavor, with sweet malt, toffee, nutmeg, root beer, maybe some dry cocoa. Lotsa flavor but watery feel - needs more carbonation. Otherwise, pretty good stuff.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20 keanex (786) - Atco, New Jersey, USA - DEC 29, 2012
No bottling information.
Appearance: This is a beautiful beer, the body is a deep brown, though a bit hazy. The head is a towering tan that’s very creamy looking with excellent retention and lots of lacing.
Aroma: The aroma reminded me of something instantly, it reminds me of Kahlua. It has a syrupy sweet artificial chocolate and coffee.
Taste: Whoa, sour, possibly infected. The flavor is a strong of cocoa powder with a sour flavor pushing way through.
Palate: Medium bodied with fizzy carbonation.
Overall: This is near undrinkable, I’m guessing it’s infected. I can’t finish this.
1.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20 TheChampion (112) - Virginia, USA - SEP 5, 2012
Pours a medium brown color with an average head. Toasty malt scent. Sour, sour flavor. I don’t know what’s wrong with this beer but despite several different samples it’s just way to sour for a brown ale. Very unpleasant.
3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 alobar (2300) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 5, 2012
Caramel brown color with a frothy cream-colored head. Not much aroma-nuts and caramel mostly. Decent lacing with nuts, caramel, fruit, and a surprising sour ending. Decent beer.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 hivemind (658) - New York, New York, USA - JUN 9, 2012
Tap in flight @ RnH w Andy and Dubra. Dark brown with thin head and spots on glass. Smells tame with some chocolate and nut. Palate is very silky smooth with dark chocolate and nuts. Not out of control, but tasty and finishes clean.
1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20 Beerathon (592) - Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 11, 2012
Not a good beer. Bad aftertaste. The one good thing it had going for it was a great frothy head.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 r464 (1467) - Earth, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 18, 2011
Strange, almost tastes of pickle juice. A bit of malt, some hops, and a salty sourness that if very much out of place. Not sure if I got a bad one or if there is a tone to it that I just don’t agree with.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 JFGrind (1715) - Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 18, 2011
Split a growler with a buddy while watching Temple Football in the Super New Mexico Bowl. Dark brown ale, medium body, with fruit, roasted malts, chocolate and light bitterness. The aroma was green hop. I don’t know if it was Temple dominating over Wyoming or I had a really good batch from Climax; I enjoyed this beer tremendously.
