Tap at Gavlan’s in East(?) Brunswick.
Dark reddish-brown. Tannish head. Smells nutty, tastes nutty. I didn’t get the corn/thin problems other people seem to have. Mysterious

Tap at Andy’s. Dark orange, tan head. Sweet, malty, nutty aroma, slight canned corn note. Sweet worty flavor with slight canned corn again. Sweet finish. There is something wrong with the way this beer was made.

On draft at the Old Bay in New Brunswick. Dark brew with thin dark head. Smoky roasted aroma; on tasting this beer starts off strong: much like a stout porter, but then it finishes thin, along the lines of a mild brown.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 CherokeeJarod (54) - , USA - DEC 26, 2002
This beer pours into the glass a brown red color, it seemed to pick up light very well. The head was a tan/beige color, that was fairly thick and stayed for quiet sometime. As the head diminished it left a small film on the top that left some lace. The aroma was of toasted malt, nuts, hops, coffee and some slight chocolate. The taste was interesting. It was moderately carbonated and the bubbles seemed to have flavors of their own. Flavors included toasted malt, hops, coffee, fruit (raisins), spices, chocolate all seemed to dance in and out at any time of each sip. Slightly bitter and hoppy, but not too demanding. This is a balanced beer that is a good choice for this style.
