Really roasty caramel and molasses. Unlike my pal Puzzl, I find the body a bit thin but I love the burnt grains. Tons of anise.

Draft. Pours deep brown with a thin head. Lightly sweet aroma with a roasty hint. The flavor has lightly roasted malt, a hint of nuttiness, and a light caramel sweetness. Pretty good.

Tap at Barcade: Deep brown pour with ruby in the light, topped with a creamy tan head. Nice roasted barley aroma. Has a light nuttiness, along with mocha suggestions. Fairly light in body, but the flavor is solid. Has a silky character and a nice roasted, slightly chocolaty presence. The finish is nice and mocha-like. A smooth and tasty Porter, easy-going.

On cask at Barcade. Decent if unexciting beer, doesn’t marry too well to the cask. Murky, drawn out, lightly minerally and roast aroma. A bit of hard water in the flavor on top of a oxidized coffee finish. Body is fairly spot on but I could’ve used a bit more malt and balance. More of the same, really.
