This was on sample at the liquor store, bought 6 pack on discount. Poured a golden amber, much like a Yuengling lager. Smell of mostly toffee and malt, maybe a little spice. Taste is much the same, some hops and alcohol. Not a bad amber lager.

Bottle. Purchase before: 04/12. A clear amber pour with a skim of a beige head. A rather subtle aroma of caramel, cereal grains, light corniness, pepper, and some lemons in the background. Goes down thin to medium-bodied. Caramel, bread, and cereal graininess upfront taste-wise. A light wheatiness and some lemony/peppery citrus at the end. The slightest hint of spiciness throughout. Clean, crisp, and refreshing. Not bad at all, just a very boring style.

Originally reviewed: 10/6/10. 12oz bottle picked up in a mixed 6-pack. Poured into a pint glass. Pours a much paler than expected orange. Small off-white head rests on top. Light lace left behind. Smell is pretty basic. Toffee, malts, light singed bread. Good body for the style. Carbonation is fair. I like the flavors on this one. Nice sweet caramel/toffee goodness. Some fresh-baked bread, and finishes with just a twinge of alcohol. I don’t know why, but I have really been enjoying the Marzens I’ve tried this year. Most of them have been pretty spot on for my liking. Not bad at all. I could have a sixer of this in my fridge any time of the year.

Draft. Dark copper color. No head. Kind of flat tasting. Pretty carmelish abd nutty. Not my favorite style really, so I’m not a huge fan

Crystal clear gold body, fleeting head. Light sweet malt in both the nose and taste. There are some peppery hops adding a little character.

A little bitter taste at first, but an absolutely great beer. In my opinion, this is the best beer brewed by the company.

Light amber, slight haze, thin head. Flavor is a naked, light maltiness that is slightly sweet and slightly dry and grainy. A mild grassy/spicy hop bitterness is found in the finish. This definitely grew on me as I drank. I became more satisfied by the malt. -Fish!

Pours orange-amber with little head. Faint sweet malt aroma. Taste is a little fruity. Not bad.

Balto bottle, supposedly retired. Anyways.... pours a copper color, with an off-white head. Aromas of caramel, and light sugar. Taste is nutty, light on caramel notes, and some woody, earthiness. Very smooth, quite enjoyable.
