RCL (855), Boston, Massachusetts, USA May 2, 2008 Rather boozy aroma followed through, to a lesser extent, in the flavor. Rather underwhelming.
cheapdark (1452), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA May 11, 2008 Nice play on words. Friendly, rather sweet aroma. Very strong taste impact of alky and alky. Color of dark iced tea. Pretty difficult to swallow at times for a lager lover. Finish is cough medicine but in an almost good way. Nothing near the refined attitudes you get from real belgie dubbels. ucusty (654), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA May 6, 2008 Brown pour with thick off white head. Nice spotty lacing. Fruity aroma. Caramel malts, figs, & candied sugar. Decent beer , but overall a very one dimensional beer. Braudog (3453), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates May 4, 2008 Bottle. Bright red with a soda-like fizz. This also drinks like a soda, bright and active on the tongue. Sweet with brewing sugar, puckering like a hard candy, and bit of woodsy body. (#3449, 5/4/2008) Aurelius (2405), Tallahassee, Florida, USA May 2, 2008 Consumed from the Goblet of Mixed Expectations. Smells like pickled olives and acetone. Murky medium brown beer with a big fizzy head. Definitely has that dubbel horehound-woody-musty thing going on. The flavor was much better than the aroma - candied, grape-y, herbal, warming. Medium body, spritzy mouthfeel. Not bad.
