Mr_Stitch (119), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 17, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a small tight lasting head. Aroma was nice light smell of malt, some dark fruit, a little doughy, and a hint of caramel. Taste was rather bland though, no hints of the dark fruits but heavy on the malt. Medium to full body with a bit of tangyness from the alcohol. Not bad I just wish the taste would have been a little closer to the smell.
Oakes (6790), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Jul 1, 2008 Bright reddish-brown. Plummy aroma with sour cherries, chocolate. Fruity and sweet, some bubblegum, light spice. Some orange. Some nice nuances but too sweet. kevd193213 (295), Coventry, Rhode Island, USA Jun 29, 2008 Bottle. Brown pour with thick tan head. Aroma of fruit and yeast. Taste of brown sugar, citrus and figs. Smooth, sweet finish. wilkie (1045), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Jun 23, 2008 Bottle. Pours cloudy amber/brown, with a medium beige head, and good retention. Aroma is dark fruits and yeast: plum, raisin, coriander, candy sugar. Flavor is similar. Nice yeast/malt balance. Not the best of style, but palatable, and tasty. Palidor19 (1207), Brandon, Florida, USA Jun 17, 2008 Very nice, its nice and malty and strong but there is some type of wang that doesn’t work in the rest. still is nice to have. nick76 (1970), Tampa, Florida, USA Jun 17, 2008 The aroma is like figs, raisins, yeast, and brown sugar. The appearance is amber with a nice head. The flavor is biter and like the aroma but not entirely pleasant. The palate is average for the style. Overall not one I would buy again.
