CaptAnkeny (13), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA May 3, 2008 Tasted on TAP, and many a bottle, but only in Baltimore. I wish I could get this out west.
HOP 3 [cubed]! This is the closest I’ve tasted perfection. And it’s not a Portland brew. It’s now what I seek out when visiting the Land Of Pleasant Living, Baltimore, MD.
So good, I had to take the tour.
HOPPY, Fruity, Tasty, kicky, ranks right up there with the Best each year at the Oregon Brewers Fest. Highly recommended to any IPA’er.
1_2many (220), Ohio, USA Aug 28, 2008 Bottle. Mostly clear orange amber with a small white head and decent lacing. Aroma of floral, citrus hops which is quite nice and mellow. Flavor has more sweetness than expected but plenty of bitterness as well. Nice easy feel and aftertaste. Highly drinkable. The_Jester (479), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Aug 27, 2008 355 mL bottle. (bb Nov ’08). Crystal clear orange with a small head that quickly fades to a film. The combination of hops results in an aroma that pretty much runs the gamut of hop scents: pine, tangerine, grapefruit, floral and pineapple. Same goes for the flavour. The malt fades into the background, but lends enough backbone to make this a very drinkable beer. It’s actually not as bitter as I expected it would be. Pretty good stuff. buzzoven (116), Japan Aug 25, 2008 I liked the look of this beer...hazy heavy burnt orange bordering on brown with a sort of murky swirl. Nice thin tan head on top. Caught some interesting aroma once I stuck my nose down deep enough...piney, plumy, hoppy. Mouthfeel was nice in the sip; incorporating a smooth, medium-bodied, mellow texture. Finish was dissapointing and it could have used a higher IBU and have been something a bit more special but overall, I would drink again. thill25 (185), Orlando, Florida, USA Aug 24, 2008 On tap @ Mellow Mushroom... Pours golden amber with a fluffy, white head that lingers for the duration of the beer leaving ample amounts of lacing. Aroma was hop dominated with a strong grapefruit and pine resin presence. Flavor is also mostly citrus and pine blended nicely with some caramel There were also some note of spicy hops, doughy yeast. The palate is medium bodied, somewhat creamy and has a semi-sweet bitter finish. Very enjoyable brew.... Sregnar35 (653), Rotterdam, New York, USA Aug 21, 2008 On tap at Mahars. Pours a really nice amber with amazing lacing. Aroma is very fresh hops. Flavor is extremely fresh and hoppy, nicely balanced too.
