dmac (799), Toms River, New Jersey, USA May 2, 2008 12 oz bottle thanks to Jeff for bringing this one to the Fight Night Tasting Round II. Pours with a solid black center and brown edges with an average size creamy beige head. Chalky, dusty aroma with notes of chocolate, hops and alcohol. Body is thin for an Impy Stout with slight carbonation. Flavor of 10 %dish soap, 10% bbq sauce, 10% mint and 70% chocolate all thrown into a blender. Not really an Imperial but for that matter not really that great anyway.
scotch4281 (20), Hollywood, Florida, USA Jul 26, 2008 To me this beer tasted like coffee, which I truly enjoy. I liked enjoyed this beer most of all the Heavy seas brands that I tried. BeerFanDan17 (331), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA Jul 21, 2008 Nice stout with good strength. Flavors of roasted coffee and chocolate were noticeable. Sampled at the St. Pete Florida Craft Beer Fest. Jwasciuk (159), Greenville, Michigan, USA Jul 19, 2008 Pours dark black with a small brown head. Aroma is heavly malty of cookies and roasted/burnt malts and mild coffee, lightly hoppt and moderately yeast, with some alcohol. Flavor is nicely roasty, almost burnt, very well balanced with firm bitternes Ends rosty with long finish. jeffwilliams11 (222), hooterville, Michigan, USA Jul 16, 2008 incredibally average beer. aroma is dry cocoa and a little cream. very dry flavor and finish. chocolatey, slighty creamy, funny off fruit flavor at the end. MaltDawg (224), Richmond, Virginia, USA Jul 10, 2008 12 oz bottle. Aroma of chocolate with roast malts. Very dark amber brown.
Dark roast malts dominate flavor with a bit of sour astringency. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Finishes moderately dry with a moderate bitterness and a bit of husky woody astringency. Quite Tasty!
