Commercial Description:
The beer is a dry Imperial Stout - creamy and rich with color as black as night. It has aromas of roasted coffee and dark chocolate, hints of molasses, toffee and caramel in the taste. Clipper City will produce only a small batch, so availability is extremely limited. IBU'S: 30 Malts: Crisp English Pale, Crisp Crystal, Chocolate and Roasted Barley Hops: Styrian Goldings, Fuggles Magnum and Amarillo

Dark brown color with small tan head and no lacing. All around pretty average imperial stout. Ordinary aroma and flavor, wasn’t bad, but wasn’t special.

bottle. Nice dark color. Carbonation city on this one! very small brown head. Aroma of chocolate/pine/fruit.Taste of chocolate malts and pine/fruit.Not at all how I want an Imperial stout to taste but it is a nice sipper. palate is very much on the thin side. ok beer and that’s about all.

12oz pour from variety pack. Nice coffee colored head to a black/dark ruby color but not a complete blackout. Not as heavy as one would expect from an Imperial stout but that can be a good thing. Nice dry stout mouthfeel with a slightly sweet flavor. Molasses maybe?? The 8% is not apparent at all and is light for an Imperial anyway. Nice beer and definitely drinkable to where you can have 2 or 3 in a row and not be full or hammered. As it came closer to room temp, more and more flavor came out. Very nice as are most of Clipper City’s beers. Would be great with a nice piece of cherry cheescake!

I thought this was a real nice brew. Dark smooth and packed a punch. Mouthfeel was a little watery and the palate slighty weak, but a decent, dark stout.

Not a whole lot of flavor. Dry, but not roasty as a porter. I couldn’t find anything wrong with it, it was certainly enjoyable to drink, but I wasn’t impressed with it whatsoever. It was like a light imperial stout. Good, but very muted.

12oz bottle. Thick brown head on black. Doesn’t look too thick or oily. Aroma is a bit winey but mostly chocolate and smoke. Very smooth coffee and dark chocolate flavour. A hint of a bit of tin and wine in the finish.
