Pours a clear light gold with lots of carbonation and head. Decent lacing. No sediment seen, regardless of what the label says. Very nice Belgian yeasty, spicy aroma. The first taste provides a surprising smooth mouthfeel without the expected bite from the spices and carbonation. As it goes down the throat, the spicy bite kicks in. However, the flavour is lacking something.

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 21, 2008 12oz pour from variety pack into a Chimay glass. Nice white head that disappeared quickly but left plenty of lacing and stickiness. Looks like a tripel with a cloudy golden/yellow color. Nose of Belgian yeast spiciness. Nice little whiff of hops. Tastes more like a tripel than a Saison but that is no put down. This beer is very good and very well balanced with spice, malt and slight choppiness. Finish is dry similar to many tripels. A great beer from Maryland that would pass as authentic in Belgium. I would love to know which yeast was used in this. A very versatile Belgian beer. No hint that it is 8%. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 21, 2008 Poured from a 12-oz bottle into a pint glass a nice clear golden color with a thin white head. A faint aroma of fresh grains. Taste was much stronger than the smell, with spicy grassy hops coming through along with candy suger leading to a nice dry finish. Beer just got better as it warmed as the flavors became more pronounced. xnoxhatex (1305), Grand Rapids/Chicago, Michigan, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 17, 2008 12oz bottle thanks to heemer77. Almost clear yet somewhat hazy golden with medium, foamy white head. Aroma is hops, spice, a little red apple and bread as well. Spice and yeast are real upfront in the flavor with alc, a little green apple, wheat and noble hops, off-dry. Medium and creamy body. Not half bad but the alc is a little too much as well as the sweetness and spices. Hank1980 (778), Athens, Georgia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 12, 2008 Pours a hazy gold, with some amber and a white head. Aroma of wheat, spice, hops, bread. Taste is also of wheat, spice, and bread. Finish is a little bitter and a little dry. Mouth is pretty carbonated and body is medium. dpjuart (670), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 9, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Pours hazy golden with white head, one finger, that dissipates quickly to a thin, white rim. Nose is apple vinegar, wheat bread and sweet candy. Tastes of bready biscuit with fruity notes, apple, pear and raisin, and spice, clove and coriander. A pretty hefty dose of hop bitterness, though not much hop flavor. Pretty decent body and mouthfeel. Tasty beer. jcr (1195), Jasper, Indiana, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 8, 2008 Bottle. Smells sweet. Tastes sweet with a lemon tartness at the end. Hazy medium yellow body below a small, fizzy, white head that quickly departs. The aroma contains straw, melon, coriander and pineapple juice. The flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter and lightly to moderately acidic. The finish is tart. Medium body with a watery texture and fizzy carbonation. This beer lacks the depth and mustiness of the better saisons. moseslikesbeer (183), conestoga, Pennsylvania, USA
