Flavor is pretty good for an American attempt at a saison. Not up to the level of a Du Pont, but tasty, enjoyable, and extremely drinkable. Notes of Belgian yeast, candy sugar, spicy hops, and a great alcohol hit buried inside. Really nice on a hot Florida day. Excellent. tagz (335), USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 31, 2007 Bottle. Very yeasty aroma is sweet and spicy with some grain. Malty with Hefeweizen notes. Cloud yellow-golden pour with a short white head. Taste is all about the spice; light fruitiness and a thick sheen of yeast, lemon and apple with faint acidity. Vague angular sourness, but it doesn’t contribute much. Fullish body with a spicy, lightly warmed aftertaste. Faint candis in the bg. Somewhat disappointing - doesn’t really work as a Saison, and as a beer in general, is somewhere along the lines of a slightly-more-flavorful (but still generic) golden ale. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | May 30, 2007 Mild for a saison, sweet fruityness. Not as carbinated as i would have liked. Could have been a little more fruity. dchmela (1476), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 29, 2007 Pours with a nice small white head. Golden colored with a fruitiness in the nose. Lacks some of the punch of the european farmhouse ales, but a nice attempt at the style. A little bit of spice in the flavor with the fruit and a very clean finish. guzzler67 (1289), Hanover, Maryland, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 28, 2007 Clear, golden amber appearance with an average size head and very good lacing. Yeasty aroma, spicy, sweet malts, fruity. Moderately hopped taste with a lot of residual sweetness and threaded with fruity esters and spices. Smooth, medium-bodied, decently carbonated mouthfeel with a herbal finish that is a little drier than at the start. millysdaddy (67), Alexandria, Virginia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 26, 2007 Had it on tap at Boulevard Woodgrill in Arlington, Virginia. It was a clear, pale, golden yellow with a white head and some lacing. The aroma is banana, clove, yeast, and tropical fruit. The flavor is spicy and very fruity. The alcohol is petty well hidden in this. I really enjoyed it - great summer brew. alexanderj (2290), Chino Hills, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 25, 2007 Updated: Jul 29, 2008Rerate; poured a gold color. Aroma was nice with some musty elements and some good banana/yeast; some sugar and fruit. I like the flavor more than most of the raters; probably due to the heavy wheat/weizen elements. Not a "true" version of the style in my opinion, but more of a hybrid. Right amount of must and spice and bitterness. Surprisingly better the second time. 3.4 to 3.6.
Bottle; poured a gold with not much white head. Aroma of banana/yeast, spice and possibly some fruit. Alot of carbonation in the mouthfeel; pretty light body. Flavor was refreshing, if not great. Flavor was slightly sweet, with some banana and spice. Flavor was a little muted. For the style, I liked it more than most.
