RCL (855), Boston, Massachusetts, USA Apr 14, 2008 Light amber pour with a creamy white head. Sweet, fruity aroma. Candied peach and citrus flavors over a nice yeasty backdrop. The higher ABV is almost totally undetectable. Very pleasant drinking.
sebletitje (8), Tampa, Florida, USA does not count May 11, 2008 Being from Belgium, I could not help but try to recognize this typical yeast smell. It sure felt like a taste from home, a beer I had tried before.
The smell reminded me of the Barbar beer brewed nearby my own town.
Red Sky offers a little fizzy/creamy aftertaste that’s actually very nice on the palate.
Honey and a sugary taste are present in this beer.
Pours a golden colorwith a thick creamy head.
It is a very god addition to the Heavy Seas treasure chest. I was very impressed by it.
docsteigs (114), USA May 11, 2008 Pours light cloudy yellow with small white head; smeels sweet, flowery; tastes of Belgian ale accented by spiciness, cloves. nice. jwardell (20), Newton, Massachusetts, USA May 4, 2008 On Tap. Typical belgian strong, flavorful, and sweet sugar tastes without any particular prominent flavors. Well executed and enjoyable. Linus_Stick (1335), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 26, 2008 A below average saison. I am a little suspicious in any saison that comes in a 12oz bottle, but maybe that’s just the beer snob in me. Aroma was decent but in a blind sniffing, I would think this was a hefeweizen. Strong banana and clove aroma. Pour was a flat bubbleless light gold with a thin white film for a head. Taste was like a hefeweizen with sugar and honey added. Medium carbonation with a sugary sweet aftertaste. Calling this a saison is a stretch to say the least. General_Gao (2219), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Apr 25, 2008 Draft at Pizzeria Paradiso in Georgetown. Poured a clear golden color. Head was white with good retention and lacing. Aroma was of banana and clove. Slightly sweet and light bodied. The flavor was similar to the aroma with the addition of honey. Not exactly Saison-ish in my mind, but decent.
