s_creigh (201), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Dec 30, 2007 Pours a nice clear dark copper color. This off white head that went away pretty quick. Aroma is sweet and matly and smells like an English ale. Mostly sweet malty flavor. Just the correct amount of bitteness to finish it off. I rather like it.
BelgianBeerGal (974), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Sep 15, 2008 Bottled. Not really sure what an Imperial ESB is but I liked it. Both aroma and flavour very well balanced between caramel malts and pleasant, citrus hops. Easy drinking and enjoyable. honestly better than expected. jjpm74 (3087), Stratford, CT 06614, Connecticut, USA Sep 11, 2008 Pours amber with a thin tan head.Smells of caramel, some roses, lots of spice. Tastes fruity and nutty with some citrussy hints and a lot of spiciness on the finish. sebletitje (362), Tampa, Florida, USA Jul 17, 2008 Pours ruby/amber with a creamy head.
Aroma is matly/caramel, lightly hoppy and earthly.
Taste is slightly roasted, and a good presence of nutty and caramel malt. Maybe some licorice, reminding me of a sweet sugary cough syrup.
Light yeast, hops giving an enjoyable tingly mouthfeel. thedm (3406), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Jun 25, 2008 This bottled brew from Indianapolis, IN poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized mostly lasting yellow white colored bubbles that left behind a transparent light brown colored softly carbonated body and a fair lacing. The aroma contained malt hop mild brown malt notes. The crisp mouth feel was strongly tingly from the hops. The flavor contained strong hops under a malt backing. elihapa (305), Connecticut, USA Jun 18, 2008 4/25/08 notes: poured from bottle. Pours with a burnt-orange color and a greenish tan head. Aroma is of hops, grass, malts and fruit. Robust and delicious. Prominent malty flavor with some citrus notes and hops to balance. Sticky mouthfeel with a semi-sweet, well balanced finish. As the style ASA suggests, this beer lacks firm membership to a specific style, which I felt hurts my rating of it, however, perhaps a good comparison beer is Souther Tier’s IPA, just maltier.
