spicedad2 (78), Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 28, 2003 A nice malty lager. Easy to drink, with a nice hops bite. It has a nice dark color that is appetizing, as well as nice carbonation. jreddish99 (5), Laurel, Maryland, USA does not count Oct 1, 2001 The best beer I have ever had. This is my high-class sipping beer. A strange, but appealing, sweet aftertaste. Mirage52 (113), New Market, Maryland, USA Apr 10, 2006 Updated: Apr 19, 2006Poured from the bottle. Small head that fizzed away quickly. Lots of bubbles. Looks more like ginger ale than beer. Taste is simple, not much of anything... maybe a hint of woodsiness, as others have said -- but nothing dominates this beer. It is pretty full for a lighter style lager, not watery at all. Very fresh and sharp. This is a good summer beer, it goes well with eating crabs or any other food in the Baltimore area. LordHedgehog (144), Westminster, Maryland, USA May 10, 2004 I’m frankly surprised by the low ratings. The balance between hops and malt is excellent, with neither overpowering the other, and both easily discernable. No, it’s not a very flavorful beer. But it’s a great summer brew, light on the tongue, and easy to drink. Some hops, some malt, some buttery notes... Not a high-class $10 beer, but a great choice for having around the deck. Slick (1956), Minnesota, USA Aug 16, 2004 Golden/light amber color, small white head that faded quickly leaving little behind. The aroma was malty sweet with a cereal like quality coming through as well as a faint hop presence, and maybe just a hint of lemon.Nice malty sweet taste with maybe a bit of caramel and some hops but there fairly faint at best. Not a bad brew at all, granted it could be better but over all it’s a very nice drinking brew with subtle flavors makeing it a brew for the summer time. Thanks to Slob for sending an AD brew my way.
