sinkhole (121), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada May 14, 2007 Draught. Cask Condition. Poured reddish orange and somewhat cloudy with virtually no head due to the lack of carbination. Nice floral amoras with a sweet creamy malt taste but didn’t have much of a lasting afterteaste. Still overall a very nice choice, although consistency could be a problem between batches.
Taktik_MTL (1983), Montréal-Nord, Quebec, Canada May 15, 2008 En fût. (Rating #1677) Cartoon_khaki (1120), Brantford, Ontario, Canada Mar 29, 2008 Redish brown with a tan head. Malty aroma with a bit of smoke to it. The flavour isn’t too striking for me with sweet malts and a bready background. The body is good but the carbonation I’m finding is really detracting from the beer. MrManning (1448), London, Ontario, Canada Feb 20, 2008 Draught at the pub- Deep amber, almost brown with a frothy beige cap. Aroma of malts and brown sugar with a touch of caramel and smoke. The flavour profile is a muted sweet caramel malts with simple hops and it is also a bit yeasty. This is a simple, straight forward example of the style and is quite good for sessions. Good. Sammy (3135), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 23, 2007 A decent beer for sure, with a malty profile and a tad of fresh gunpowder smoke in the finish. Modest bitterness, but it is there and makes the overall drinkability. Amber with big head, malt aroma. Creaminess in mouthfeel. french tickler (505), Aylmer, Quebec, Canada Jul 11, 2007 Dark copper poor with a thin off-white head. Aromas of fresh caramelised malts, typical lactose like (yogourt) yeast smell with added raspberries. Good hoppy bitterness with a dry finish. Fresh tasting like all the other beers but nothing spectacular. Nice effervescence.
