3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Enjoyed this pint at their Bank street pub. Pours a clean copper colour with a nice creamy light-beige head that was long lasting and gave out dirty lacing (not all pints had a nice head like mine). Mild perfume malt with a bit of hop. Caramel and coffee eventually came out as the beer warmed up. Medium-bodied with a little stickiness. Fruity malt taste with the roasted malt appearing eventually. Decent bitterness and dryness for the finish. Also, notes of very light caramel, coffee and nuts. This is a nice refreshing, fruity-roasted beer with a beautiful thick creamy head that lasted all the way (for me).

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
A dark reddish brown with a thin big bubbled brown head. In aroma, a grassy caramel malt with light solvent notes. In mouth, a harsh, lightly bilous dunkel, with burned notes, nutty, rather unpleasant. On tap at Bank St location, Nov. 28 2012.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pint at Beechwood location. 27NO12. Deep mahogany, almost no head (dirty glass?). Quite fruity, sweet, caramel, toast, mild roasted malts, raisins and dark dried fruits, very rich and delicious, not to style though...I’d call it more Bock-ish? Medium body, somewhat lively carbonation. Drier in mouth but still a bit too sweet and rich in the malt dept. for a Dunkel (I think), more toast, bread crust, a bit of noble hop character, nice; almost dry with light bitterness and a friendly, sweet, possibly inappropriate finish. I enjoyed it. Still don’t think it is to style.
