motelpogo (4111), Plzen, Czech Republic Oct 20, 2007 on tap at clockwork. tasted pretty much identical to bad home-brewed ginger beer made from dry ingredients. yellow, faint haze, artificial ginger aroma, some light ginger burn, can’t imagine drinking much of this Rastacouere (5270), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Oct 1, 2007 Headless, cloudy light golden ale. Agressively gingery, limey aroma is sharp and rather pointy. So spicy in mouth that you can barely taste anything, but the culprit ginger. Minimal hints of rooty herbs. Tart and ultimately not very refreshing, which makes the whole endeavour quite pointless. Leaves a lasting spice film that sticks to the gums in the finish. Light-bodied, not pleasant. omhper (10456), Stockholm, Sweden Aug 30, 2007 Draught at the brewpub. Pale yellow, no head. Citric gingery nose. Sweet and sour with lots of lemon and lots of ginger. Medium bodied. No bitterness. Like most ginger beers it’s quite aggressive, and doesn’t work as a quencher. Ungstrup (11136), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 29, 2007 Drat at the brewpub. A hazy yellow beer with no head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of ginger, but also a light spicy note - of other spices than ginger. The flavor is sweet with very strong notes of ginger - too much for me, though I usually like ginger beers, and also very spicy. M0RHI (1005), Luxembourg, Luxembourg Aug 26, 2007 Tap, Clockwork, Glasgow, RBESG 07. Hazy piss straw colour, no head. Ginger and some off-smelling water. Some citrus. Mouth is lemon-lime mix with bags of fresh ginger again. Overpowers any beer there for sure. Dry, peppery at the end.
