Cask @ Clockwork Beer Co. Hazy reddish brown colour, reasonable head. Toffee aroma. Dry citrus biscuit malt flavour, grapefruit aftertaste. One of Clockwork’s better beers.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 tombyars (1204) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - NOV 23, 2011
Tasted this at the University of West of Scotland 1st beer festival, Paisley in March 2008. Cask, handpump dispense. Cloudy copper red in colour with a poor open white head. Strong sulphurous aroma with hints of canned fruit salad. Good smooth mouthfeel and poor lacing. Pale malts deliver a very juicy malt base with syrupy fruit salad flavours. Sweet cherries, honeydew melon, peaches and pears are present. Aromatic hop resins give a floral dusty aftertaste which compliments the malt well. Finish has a sweet edge with dry redcurrant fruit and sweet sherry notes. Reminded me of Caledonian Strong Ale in places. Worth seeking out at the brewery.

Aroma gives rich fruity spicey malts with some ginger saying something over peppery grassy hops. Taste has a huge mouthfeel almost sticky at times it seems to rich, but the peppery hops stop it from cloying, alround defo one of the best beers iv had from a scottish brewer and may ake me think differently about this place also.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 CampbellWilson (533) - SCOTLAND - JUL 25, 2005
Draught at the Clockwork. Reddish dark brown. No head. Aroma of malt, fruit, vinous notes, grapefruity hop. Great mouthfeel. Almost like a barley wine despite the abv - reminiscent of Fullers Vintage Ale. Classy stuff.

Sampled draught at The Clockwork Beer Co., Glasgow
Dark ruby. Grapefruit aroma. Malty and sweetish with an immediate punch of American hops. Loads of chocoalte flavour and really bitter finish. Much firmer than the Red Alt Beer, and by far my favourite offering from this brewpub.
