The Clos Normand range of ciders is made in the heart of the Normandy region from the choicest apples grown on trees. This cider owes its rich, full flavor to the quality of the fruit we use as well as to the care we take at each stage of the cider-making process. The result is a subtle alliance of sweet and sour taste, that is the trademark of Clos Normand.

Taster at Mile High Wine and Spirits. Pour is clear golden with a small white head and decent lacing. Green apples, light honey, straw and some rubber notes in the aroma. Taste bring more pear, some straw, white grapes with a lingering rubber note on the backend. Light body with high carbonation. Meh.

Bottle. Pours a deep gold with a very brief head and a lot of visible carbonation. Nose is Golden Delicious apple, honey, yeast, pastry, and nutmeg. On the tongue, I don’t know that I’d call that ’brut’, exactly -- but damn, it’s good. Bright golden and green apple flavor, some apple peel, a touch of honeyed sweetness, crisp pastry notes, nutmeg, and allspice. A long, complete finish brings it together nicely. Quite good.

Corked and caged 750ml bottle into a glass. Clean dark hay pour, a bit lighter than apple juice. Nice light carbonation. Aroma is sweet, lightly tart, earthy and a bit musty. Taste is sugary, tart green apples, dry, juicy. Lingering earthiness and lightly artificial sweetener finish.

750ml bottle picked up at The Grapevine
Pours clear golden with a small off-white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of ripe apples, earthy and sugar. Taste is ripe apples, tart apple skins with a dry finish, sweet aftertaste
Decent but wasn’t as refreshing and crisp as I had hoped for on this hot day.

Musty apple aroma. Appearance is yellow orange with a sparkling head. Taste has apple notes, but also has a unique flavor almost pear like. Balance is semisweet. Mouthfeel is medium full with sparkling carbonation. Tannins are present. Kind of a chloraseptic after taste. Overall, it's unique. I'm not a fan that they added caramel coloring which gives it a fake color. It is quite drinkable though. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma - it has a definite farmhouse yeast quality about it, and of course the apple tartness you’d expect Appearance - body is gold; very clean and clear, a champagne look about it, there is a fair amount of nucleation; the head doesn’t last long and fizzles out fast. Taste - there is an earthy apple quality about this beer, a slight farmhouse yeast Palate - is light; the texture thin; the carbonation and lively; the finish is dry and abrupt

Distinct aroma of apple juice. Dark gold in color with a thin bit of white fizz that dissipates quickly. Extremely dry, a bit tart, but definitely low on sweetness. Short and trashy finish.

750 ml bottle
I haven’t tried many French ciders. This one is much sweeter than almost any I had over the summer. Fairly accessible in comparison though it makes me want to try a few more from the local stores.

Aroma / Appearance - A transparent coppery body is light but has a stiff white head. Sweet and savory the fresh scent of crisp apples brightens the air. As dry as they come this is almost like the cider equivalent of a dry brut champagne.

Flavor / Palate - Sweet cider fills the mouth like sugary apples. Refreshing and light it sweeps across the palate. A tangy finish is not vinegary but it is definitely acidic. I could easily finish a bottle myself. This would be perfect for something like New Year’s or Valentine’s Day as a substitute for champagne.
