3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Tmoney99 (8777) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - DEC 10, 2012
Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured clear dark brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy citrus & toasted malt aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. My expectations were exceeded.

An interesting combination of two beers I have never had before. Didn't taste like a red ale but had good flavor.

Bottle. Pours a rich mahogany with a nose of bready apple and grapefruit orange mixed with pine. Flavor is butt-bread and raw nuts. Average mouthfeel. I’ll vote for someone else.

From a bottle poured a dark amber color with a small amount of head. Strong malty flavor with a quick finish.

Bottle. Pours a hazy and rather dark amber with a moderate off-white head. Nose is a little malty, but not all that strong. Taste is fairly strong with some alcohol notes in there, actually. Not what I expected...

22oz bomber pours clear amber with copper hues and thin light tan head. The aroma has a nice mix of roasted malts, some sweet maltiness and faint resiny hops. The taste hits all at once with roasted malts, bitter pine hops, resiny tree sap like notes and then a sliver of sweet nuttiness. Into the finish the pine and resiny hops remain pretty strong and then a mild warming is noticed into the after taste. Yummy stuff.

22 oz. bottle from Binny’s. Pours a slightly hazy reddish amber with a medium sized off white head. The aroma has sweet malts, citrus, caramel, toasted bread with some ripe fruits. The flavor has a big malt backbone; toasted bread dripping with caramel. Some citrus notes, but the hops become more resiny. More ripe fruits with moderate bitterness to the finish. No sign of the abv. I didn’t know what to expect, so I was pleased with this one.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 dmac (3166) - Toms River, New Jersey, USA - NOV 30, 2012
22oz bomber from Capone’s. Poured a thick hazy amber body that is more orange on the edges and more brown towards the center, an average size light beige frothy head leaves lots of lace and lasts nicely. The aroma is pleasant enough with a lot going on. Notes of citrus hops, orange slices, molasses and caramel sweetenss, some honey topped toast. Big chewy body with a quick shot of alcohol warmth that quickly fades, a lingering roasty heat and soft carbonation that makes this a bit creamy almost. Flavor of bitter citrus rinds, dry grains, old caramel, a quick touch of alcohol, bitter hops. Not bad but just another decent ASA.

Bomber to taster (thanks alexsdad06). Looks good; a semi-transparent brownish-orange with off-white lacing. Smells and tastes sweet, hoppy, malty, and boozy with a good mouthfeel. Nice.

Bomber from Capone’s. Pours turbid ruby coppery with 1-finger frothy off-white head. Nose is caramel malt, fruity florals, resiny hops. Tastes dense and complex on the palate; a mix of resiny and intense hops, but balanced by a Brobdingnagian caramel malt bill, some finishing fruity, peppery, and spicy notes, and an overall increase in density as it warms. This one is great.
