22 oz bottle. Thanks Eric! The pour is more of a dark dark coppery color with a nice white head and no lacing to be found. The aroma is really sweet. There is a strong caramel malt presence and not a whole lot from the cognac barrel here. The flavor is a by more boozy but maintains that sweet dominance. The caramel and malts just meld pretty well and the finish is a bit hot. The mouth feel is a bit light with light carbonation and a decent, but really sweet lightly lingering aftertaste ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

650 ml bottle, deep brown with thin white head. Nice aroma sweet barely wine notes of dates, raisin and a very light notes of cognac.

The flavor is rich yet, not overly sweet. Molasses, dark fruits and a light warming sensation without any alcohol hints. Very soft carbonation that gives a smoothness. Body medium leaning on the full side. Really nice.

Poured from bottle thanks Adrien. Reddish brown pour with a tan head. Aromas of grape tannin toffee and sugar. Taste is awesome and follows aroma with a well balanced boozy finish.

A very hazy dark reddish brown. super murky beer. a small dark white head. The aroma is pretty insane. sweet and burnt brown sugar, baked apples and a little graham cracker / animal crackers. This is a good beer. Has a great toffee and apple taste to it. brown sugar, grape tannins and very old woody taste. Decadent and an interesting beer.

Bomber poured a clear reddish brown with a lingering ring of tan foam. Aromas of caramel and dried fruit. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of toffee, caramel, earthiness and light dried fruit with a smooth lingering toffee finish.

1500...woot woot. Bomber thanks to RespertFTW who I'm been fortunate enough to share most of my beers with. Cloudy brown with lots of sediment and almost no head. Grapes, tannins, vanilla, and lots of toffee. Similar flavors with even more grape.

Bottle: The aroma consists of moderate caramel, toffee, light apple, yeast, and cognac. It pours a hazy orangish-brown with a small beige head that quickly fades to a minimal film outlined by a very fine ring. The flavor with moderate-heavy toffee and buttery caramel. The finish has apple, light cognac, vanilla, and a touch of toast. It’s medium bodied with mild carbonation and a somewhat sticky mouthfeel.

Bottle from Blackwells. Nose is rich, toffee, dusty, light melanoidins. Pour is a reddish brown with an off white head. Not getting much barrel character. Taste is like a vanilla werthers candy. Slightly chewy. Some meaty character like a steak marinade. Taste is much better than aroma but still not getting the barrel beyond a light vanilla.

Big aromas of candied sugar, plums, raisins, prune juice, dark fruits, toffee, oak, sugared caramel, slight anise, sweet port wine and cognac sweetness. Appears a very dark shade of brown with a magenta tint, no foam and slight alcohol legs. Taste is big sweetness upfront with prominent plum/prune juice upfront followed by toffee, roasted barley, slick molasses, malt syrup, burnt liquid malt extract, raisins, apricots, oak, sweet dark fruits, subtle merlot notes and Belgian candi sugar (oddly enough). Finishes boozy and sweet with definite cognac liquor sweetness as well as some barrel wood. Overall, really nice one from Clown Shoes. The heavy English Barley Wine molasses-like maltiness is there while the cognac brings a big sweetness similar to port or Belgian candi sugar. A rating. Would buy again.
