What should we call our Russian Imperial Stout? Black Unicorn? Soul Dragon? Nohhh. Let’s combine them and create the ultimate mythical creature: Blaecorn Unidragon.

Imbued with a monstrous amount of dark malt and aggressive hops, Blaecorn Unidragon is a powerful and complex brew designed to improve with age.

Bomber with commonmac during the final four. Dark plum black with lucious tan head. Smells boozy, sweet, dark fruit, tartness. Roasty, sweet, chocolate dark fruit. Long lasting complexity. Slightly bitter, drying and tarter mouthfeel than expected. Roasted malt sugar booze dominates. Not as creamy as I would have thought. Take care when riding this dragon.

22 oz bomber style purchased at Elevated and consumed during Final Four at the house of commonshawn. Deep black with half finger of tan head. Aroma features chocolate, dark fruits, almost a Mexican style mole, and a little bit of roasty/smoky quality. Taste has traditional characteristics of an imperial stout - chocolate, roasted malts, tart dark fruit/plum - but with plenty of complexity. There is a subtle smokiness involved. You can feel the alcohol warmth. Dark chocolate bitterness in the finish. Long lasting aftertaste. Overall, it’s a little less sweet than I expected but a good sipping beer. Definitely worth sampling when you have the chance.

Pours a black brown from a bottle. Tasting table sample. Roasty smokey chocolate smell is mostly overshadowed by smoke in the mouth, a little creosote in there. Offputting burnt licorice. Not my bag.

Pours black an oily with a tiny coffee head. The nose is toffee, malt, chocolate and a pleasant hint of hops. To taste this is deliciously complex with an amazing malt bill throwing up coffee, caramel, smoke, vanilla and dark fruits. The hefty alcohol is tempered by a good dosing of hops. Incredibly drinkable and a marvellous imperial stout.

On draught. Pours a deep mahogany with a moderate tan head that persists. Nose is dark roast malt and a touch of hops. Taste is bittersweet cocoa and dark chocolate. Very well balanced with a creamy mouth feel and an extremely long finish. Outstanding.

22oz bomber: This one pours an inky dark brown color. There was a small darker tan head that didn’t linger too long. It has a good nose. A bit sweet and a little boozy. Chocolate, coffee, faint vanilla are the main culprits. The taste is good. Just a little sweet. Chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, vanilla, faint raisin(?). Some earthy hops balancing out the malts. Nice.

Aromat: kawa, czekolada, palony słonecznik, iglaki, trochę ciemnych owoców; Smak: gładkie, dosyć gęste, z dosyć mocną goryczką grejfrutowo-ziołową, posmak kawowo, czekoladowo, grejfrutowy; Podsumowując dla mnie to bardziej imperial black ipa, dobry aromat chmielowy, ogólnie dobre piwo

Bottle. My first from this brewery and what a start.Black with virtually no head. Malty and powerful but not overpowering. Trace of liquorice. A seriously dangerous one.

February 11, 2016. Bottle at home.
Black with a medium sized creamy brown head. Aroma roasted malts on top of a sweet base with caramel, sweet licorice, some soy notes, hints of ash, dark chocolate, dark bread and ink. Taste is sweet, with a quite light bitterness, sweet caramel, dark berries, licorice in the finish with bitter ash, coffee and chocolate, some inky notes as well. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, slight oily texture.
Nice, quite easy drinkable.
