4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bomber from Total. Black pour with a small yet thick mocha colored head. Aroma was like a melted candy bar, lots of milk chocolate, some roast and vanilla. Almost no heat. Flavors were roasty, slightly smoky, some vanilla paired with a nice bitter finish. Mouthfeel was thick and smooth, light carbonation. The booze was extremely well hidden throughout this one, quite impressive. My first two from Clown Shoes has been winners, nice job!

Thanks to pari6819 for sharing this one. Cheers, Sam! Pours a stout brown with an off-tan head. Nose is anise, black licorice, slight smoke, and some tar. Flavor is similar- earth, tar, tiny smoke, anise, and most of the flavors that really don’t work for me in an imperial stout. Medium in body with lingering earth and tar.

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
The nose of this has more alcohol present in it than I would care for. Definitely some nice licorice notes in it though. The taste of this is dominated by anise with a little bit of chocolate, but not in a manner that really adds to the flavor profile of this. It was very thin for what it is. Appearance is like old motor oil.

So finally I get to rate a notorious clown shoe, hehe. Big black impressive pour from a tap. Nice friendly roasty aroma without much volatile fumes comes across nicely on the olfactory. This hides the clowns impact for on the taste buds it knocks your head back, big rude rototilling thing baby. Nasty nellie fer sure. Some co2 but it never lets you forget what this beer is all about, right on style, not too enjoyable for a lager loving girlie taste bud. In my glass it looks like used gasoline laced 60W harley oil.
