What should we call our Russian Imperial Stout? Black Unicorn? Soul Dragon? Nohhh. Let’s combine them and create the ultimate mythical creature: Blaecorn Unidragon.

Imbued with a monstrous amount of dark malt and aggressive hops, Blaecorn Unidragon is a powerful and complex brew designed to improve with age.

Bottle. Pours a pitch black color with a tan head. Aroma is of roasted malt, liquorice, dark fruits, chocolate, coffee, some almost juicy hop notes too. The flavor follows the nose with roasted malt, that kind of juicy hop notes, dark fruits, liquorice, chocolate, coffee and a touch of alcohol. The body is full with a nice creamy mouth feel. Overall a pretty nice Imperial Stout!

A black colored beer, with a dark beige thick foamy head. The aroma of dark fruits, with coffee and notes of chocolate. The taste of sweet dark fruits, coffee, notes of chocolate and dark malt. The aftertaste of sweet, coffee and some bitter.

Chocolate malt, coffee roast in the aroma. Flavor is chocolate/mocha, with some roast bitterness and a little alcohol in the finish, though not nearly as much as you’d think given the strength of this beast. This is the second beer I’ve tried from Clown Shoes, and they’re both really good.

Bottle, as pictured. Pours pitch black, minimum wispy brown head. Smells vaguely of chocolate and coffee, with the nose intensifying as it warms. Flavor gets better as it warms as well. Was boozy at first coming out of the fridge, but has a much calmer, warmer, deeper roasty flavor as it warms. Good beer.

Bomber to snifter (thanks alexsdad06). Looks good; black with mocha lacing. Smells nice; roasty and malty. Tastes like it smells, only better, with a heavy hop presence. Good on the palate too. Nice; reminiscent of fresh Darkness.herbs,

UPDATED: SEP 24, 2012 22 oz. bottle, sent from Glouglouburp (thanks Dany), pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of oatmeal, roasted malt, some chocolate and moderate sweetness. Flavour contains light roasted malt, some woody smoky notes, and a bit of milk / dark chocolate. Fairly light-bodied for a 12.5% impy and the ABV is certainly well-concealed. Not very complex or full-bodied, and not really a cohesive beer. Not impressed.

Bottle at Ulrik’s. Pours an opaque black with an off-white head. Sweet with aromas of lightly roasted malts and hints of dried dark fruits. Medium to full bodied. Medium carbonation. Dry finish with more roasted malts and a mellow sweetness. Good.

0.65 l bottle. Black color. Sweet aroma with licorice, cola, . Sweet roasty flavor with licorice, coffee, burnt berries, bitterness and oak. Full body, a bit sharp carbonation. There is too much licorice, acrid roastiness and roasty astringency.

Bottle. Pours a thick and extremely dark brown with a moderate tan head. Nice roasted malts to the nose of this with some hints of coffee underneath. Just a tad sour on the taste, but the roasting really comes through. Great find.
