What should we call our Russian Imperial Stout? Black Unicorn? Soul Dragon? Nohhh. Letís combine them and create the ultimate mythical creature: Blaecorn Unidragon.

Imbued with a monstrous amount of dark malt and aggressive hops, Blaecorn Unidragon is a powerful and complex brew designed to improve with age.

Excellent head retention, pours black. Chili spice nose with bouquet of coffee, dark chocolate, cinnamon and bourbon. Full bodied, sweet and creamy. Slight bitterness. Tastes of bourbon, anise and cinnamon with a burnt coffee aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured black. Aromas chocolate and a bit of espresso, hint of hops. Flavor is a match. Hops are present, and hint of citrus, but are obliterated in a good way by the dark malts. Quite drinkable despite this. Enjoyed this beer. Pleasant surprise.

22 oz bottle - pours viscous black, full tan head, lasting with decent lacing. Aromas of toasted malts, slight bitter chocolate, bit of citrus notes. Taste is roasted nuts, little coffee, finishing with bit of hops. Medium bodied, balanced with no burn. Decent, not a monster.

Bomber bottled 1/2012 poured into snifter. Pours black with a slight tan head that quickly dissipates leaving a cap. Dark brown around the edges in the light. The aroma is pretty smokey with roasted malts and a fairly heavy scent of booze. The smoke and alcohol makes it hard for me to pick up much else. The taste offers more with a chocolate malt flavor with caramel and a fair amount of hop bitterness and some dark fruit. The mouth feel is fairly smooth with a medium body and light to moderate carbonation. Overall a decent imperial stout although not as good as some others Iíve had recently. The flavors are there but they could be balanced better and the alcohol heat masks some of the other flavors, not as complimentary as it is with some others.

650ml bottle. Pours thick and black with a temporary two finger head. Aroma is pine, coffee, malts, but nothing remarkable. Taste is where it really comes alive, with dark fruits, coffee, and a large amount of bitter chocolate which extends to the finish. Alcohol is reasonably well hidden, but the more you drink the more it appears. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours jet black with thick tan head. Nice lacing. Aroma of hops, roasted malt, and chocolate. Taste has chocolate mixed with nice piney hops. Thick mouthfeel. Would never guess this is over 12%. No alcohol heat at all.

Botella. Pitch black colour. Nice creamy head, above medium sized, brown, steady. Pleasant well roasted maltiness in the aroma indeed along with chocolate, licorice and some alcohol. Good filling mouthfeel indeed. Great flavour: lots of roasted malt and chocolate, licorice, itís peppery and some smoke to it too, alcohol in the lovely roasted malty chocolate finish. Niiiize!

Bottle. Pours jet black with a medium beige head. The aroma is a great mix of hard roasted malt, citric hops, licorice, dark bread and light chocolate. The flavour is licorice, oat, chocolate, light smoke, roasted malt and hops and it has a long warming roasted alcoholic finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at the Tap House in Fall River. Pours black with no head. Aroma is of malts, smoke, booze, bark, and a little dark chocolate. Flavor is pretty much the same. The smokiness really comes through though in this one, but not over powering. Leaves a dry malt and smoke finish. Good stuff.

Serving: 22 oz. bottle from Total Wine Sterling. It pours black as night with a small but lasting dark brown head. The nose has a mix of roasted malt, soy sauce, mocha, and vanilla. Earthy roasted malt and coffee are the dominant flavors with subtle vanilla, oak, black walnut, and slight dried fruit notes. Creamy mouthfeel with soft carbonation and a lingering roasty finish. Outside of a slight warming feeling going down, itís impossible to pick up the alcohol. Wow, Iím really impressed with Clown Shoes on this one.
