3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber->snifter. Pours black with slight head. Aroma is chocolate, malt, with slight coffee. Nice. Flavor is roast, dark chocolate, but the lingering alcohol diminishes from what starts as a great taste. Creamy, good mouthfeel. Very good.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber bottle. Pours a black beer with a small, beige head. Aroma is heavily malty with chocolate and an alcoholic background. Flavour is starts off with a heavy alcoholic sweetness and smooths out into a roasted malty sweet base. Eventually finishes into a long, bittersweet aftertaste. Very nice, full bodied imperial stout.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
(Bottle) Pours black with a creamy pale brown to brown head. The aroma holds fruity dark chocolate, grainy coffee, dark juicy bread, peeper, chilly, mineral, fresh salty liquorice, green herbs, sticky fresh citrus, grass, wood, oat and warming alcohol. Touch of dog food. Clean and young on the nose. The flavor s light sweet, medium to heavily bitter and light acidic with hard roast, green/woodsy hops and alcohol. The mouthfeel is sticky, clean, tart and light fiery with a soft carbonation. Lots of aggressive deep roast, green hops and light alcohol. Medium to full bodied.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
(From notes 3 Nov, 2012) Bottle. The head is airy (i.e. large bubbles), beige and small. The beer is dark brown, almost black. Aroma is chocolate, smoke and easily discernible hops. Flavor is clearly hoppy, bitter burnt smoked coffee, sweetness. Texture is smooth enough. Finish is a slightly herbal hoppy bitter, hints of alcohol (no problem).
Powerfully hopped imperial stout and not very complex. Feels in some ways, mainly the noticeable hops, like a black IPA. But, I’m a fan of imperial stouts, and this one certainly gets enough things right for me to enjoy it.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
A small light brown to tan head which changes quick into a half open lacing on top of a black colored beer.
Smell roast, coffee roast, dark chocolate, manure, chocolate roast, roasted barleys. Nice!
Taste is strong bitter, spicy, dark chocolate, lots of roast, roasted barley malts, coal, smoke.
Aftertaste is dark ’n bitter with some roast, chocolate and malts.
Low to medium carbo, soft creamy light spicy mouthfeel, full body and a creamy texture.
Very good balanced, lot of roast and nice bitterness.
Maybe a bit of a cliche beer, but it’s very well executed!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Rating #769, bottle from Toft Vin. A pitchblack beer with a minor head. Aroma is very roasted with smoke, cheese and a bunch of chocolate. Flavor of roasted chocolate, sweet chocolate, a lot of bitterness all the time and pretty obvious alcohol in the finish. Aftertaste of smoke and sweet chocolate. Good balance between bitterness and sweetness, but the beer might not be as complex, exciting and innovative as other impys i’ve had. Well tasting, though. Magnificent palate - very soft, thick and with perfect amount of carbonation.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
From a bomber, black pour, light brown head. Coffee and chocolate in the aroma, maybe some cherry and a little oak, taste has a lot of dark chocolate and roast and a little boozy flavor on the after taste. Enjoyable.
