3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from a 22 oz bottle into a brandy glass. Pours a nice dark color with a creamy tan head that doesnít last too long. Aroma is more of coffee with notes of roasted malt, and chocolate with some smokey notes as well. Flavor is initially sweet with notes of chocolate and roasted malt that turns bitter with notes of chocolate and vanilla. It finishes with an astringent bitterness from the alcohol. Mouthfeel is full with decent carbonation. Overall a great beer but could be better with aging.

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Looks very oily and black coming out of the bottle. The head is 1-2 inches and thick, rich brown. The aroma is roasted malt, alcohol, chocolate syrup and a stiff aromatic hop bitterness. I donít know what it is with these beers. Itís getting close to hard liquor. It burns and is a little upsetting on the stomach because Iím drinking it like beer and thatís just too much too fast. Rich and alcoholic. Mmnha. I guess its good for getting drunk but not enjoying a beer. What a stupid goal.

Bottle shared by Lunch. Thanks Paul.
The beer appears near black with a half inch of dense beige head. The aroma brings prominent dark roast with dark fruits, molasses, chocolate. Heavy roast throughout, with alcohol content unobtrusive. Hard to believe this is 12.5%. A bit one dimensional, as the roast dominates the majority of the flavor profile. Really smooth feel on the palate. The mouthfeel is the best aspect of the beer. All in all, a solid beer, and one I would have again.

Bomber from Sonoma Cellars. Pours opaque, very, very dark brown with a chocolate milk head leaving almost no lacing. Aroma has molasses and both dark chocolate and milk chocolate, with caramel. Taste is of sweet caramel, bitter bakers chocolate and roasted malts. Syrupy and strong. Almost overwhelmingly chocolatey, with some roughness. Finishes bittersweet chocolate malty with some length. Alchohol well hidden. Clown Shoes continues their very strong line of brews.
