What should we call our Russian Imperial Stout? Black Unicorn? Soul Dragon? Nohhh. Let’s combine them and create the ultimate mythical creature: Blaecorn Unidragon.

Imbued with a monstrous amount of dark malt and aggressive hops, Blaecorn Unidragon is a powerful and complex brew designed to improve with age.

2-year cellared bottle. Strong but not boozy, hides the 12.5% well. The flavor is dominated by roasty bitterness, of course. A fresh bottle might be hoppier but this one is more smooth and surprisingly drinkable - the aging really helps. Flavors are well-blended with hints of chocolate and burnt sugar.

Pours black with a thin but persistent tan head. Aromas of coffee, chocolate, molasses, raisins. Medium bitter and medium sweet. Alcohol is well hidden, balance is pretty good all round. Nice full body and smooth, slightly powdery, chocolatey mouthfeel.

Black as a collapsed star with small mocha head. Big milk chocolate and coffee smell, with molasses sweetness and vanilla. The taste is also big coffee, toffee, chocolate and vanilla. Big full body like motor oil. This is a big brew in every sense and enjoyable, but in small amounts.

Bottle to snifter. Appearance: dark black color, thick, dark brown head, lasts a while then fades to a nice lacing. Aroma: toasted barley, toasted almonds and other nuts. Grapes, Red wine. Taste is dark fruits up front, coffee in the finish. Also some dark chocolate and a wine/brandy taste. Tasty. After a while, a burnt taste catches up to you. Feel: Smooth. Medium carbonation. Very nice beer. Slowly becoming a big fan of Clown Shoes.

2014 bottle. Pours a thick black color with a dense frothy brown head that settles into a light cap. The aroma is big roasted malt with some mellow milk chocolate notes, along with some scorched caramel and powdered cocoa. Taste has loads of malts, molasses, semi sweet chocolate, and nice hops with citrus undertones and coffee. Very well balanced and rounded. Thicker body, smooth, light carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
