What should we call our Russian Imperial Stout? Black Unicorn? Soul Dragon? Nohhh. Let’s combine them and create the ultimate mythical creature: Blaecorn Unidragon.

Imbued with a monstrous amount of dark malt and aggressive hops, Blaecorn Unidragon is a powerful and complex brew designed to improve with age.

UPDATED: NOV 15, 2012 Black, dark tan/brown head. Herbal pine aroma on top of a viscous stout of chocolate, woody, berry. Taste is big chocolate, roast, woody, berry, dry oak barell, big piney, earthy hops, big woody roasty but smooth not harsh, but strong malty smooth dark malts.Think this is maybe 6 -9 mo or less aged.Really good strong stout that hides alcohol but still shows its robust strength. Rich but not too sweet, dry roasty but very smooth as hell and slickish. Strong hop balancing its malt and alcohol. Unless Im just a big russian stout fan(loved most of them),which Im not really even a big stout guy, this is prettty spectacular for a 12.5%er. Well done for an abv this big. This beer is sexier than you may know, too.

November 13, 2015 - bottle from AV3 a long time ago. Very dark pour with limited head. Aroma was roasty, malt and chocolate. Taste started out sweet, but finished too dry and roasty for me.

Bottle, 650ml. A black beer with a red hue and a small brown head that fades away quickly. Aroma is of mint, citrics, peppermint and alcohol. Taste is bitter with a strong mint aftertaste. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation and some astringency. Slighlty alcoholic finish with a double aftertaste of peppermint. An unusual Imperial Stout, with almost none of the typical flavors, yet very pleasant.

Pours a deep brown almost black with a thin brown ring of foam. Texture is slightly oily and clings to the glass. Aroma is faint but noticeable. Sweet malt and dark fruit like figs or dates. Very smooth and creamy with a nice body. Flavor is mostly roasted malt and somewhat dry. Taste coats the walls of the mouth but is pretty one dimensional. Not nearly as complex as described on the bottle. Hides the high alcohol content well. Not bad but not as good as I expected. If the flavor had a little more variety I would have rated it higher. Pretty good but not great.

It’s certainly black, with some small tan top, but not much retention. Aromas are surprisingly subdued - roasted malt and coffee notes dominate. Flavor is slightly better, with cocoa entering the picture along with slight alcohol - impressive given the abv. Finishes a little dry for my tastes, and I like these big stouts to be a tad sweeter. Will try again for sure though.

Bottle, 650ml. Almost opaque black with a frothy to minimal brown head. Very hoppy aroma, almost like a black IPA. Robust bodied with moderate to fizzy carbonation. Sweet malty character with a blunt fruity alcohol finish.
