3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours thick, black, and syrupy with a dark brown, foamy head. The nose is burnt toast and yeast. Notes of dark chocolate and dark cherries. The taste is bitter with a huge burnt molasses, syrupy sweet profile underneath. Full bodied beast of a beer, with soft carbonation and a dark-roasted grain aftertaste.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
(Bottle @ VilleValla Pub, Linköping, Dec 12 2014) Pours pitch black with pale tan head and little lace. Aroma of dark malts, treacle, moderate roast, light soy, slight smoke, touch of coffee. Up front there are a lot of dark malts, treacle, little roast, soy sauce. A bit more roast in the middle but still light, and some dark fruit? Finish is lightly bitter, lingering dark malts, touches of black coffee. Medium oily body with little carb. Alcohol pretty well hidden. Not a bad imperial stout by any means, almost too well integrated as nothing really jumped out at me, except that it might have been a touch towards the soy side of things. Well crafted but came across as good, not exceptional.

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
As with all clown shoes brews, it's good but not mind blowing. I've had better and worse stouts. Worth trying but that's it.,

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from systembolaget in Sweden. Nice long lastning yellow -brown head. Black color. Rich roasted malty with dark chrystal malt that lacks coffey that i think improves this stout. Full rich malt taste with chocolats and balanced caramell taste. Medium bitterness and full body. The only bad thing with this beer is the prise.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bomber purchased at Holiday Wine Cellar 21 months ago ($10.99). Pours black with some brown around the edges and an impressive 2.5 fingers of creamy light brown foam. AROMA of mildly roasted malts, roasted nuts, mild coffee, heavy toffee, and sweet fruit. FLAVOR of heavily dark roasted and ashy malts, sticky stewed dark fruits, bitter baker’s chocolate, and heavy dark coffee. I wonder if this is possibly lightly infected as the big fruitiness throws me off a little bit. The very high ABV is mostly concealed in the nose and mouth, but there is a noticeable burn as it goes down the ol’ gullet. Not a very nuanced impy stout and I do wonder if it’s lightly infected, but it goes down easily enough which is a surprise considering the huge ABV. (502, 927)
