(Bottle). Fine dry aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and some licorice. Big flavor of dark roasted malt, but rather soft in tone, taste of salty licorice. Long and dry taste of roasted malt, dry chocolate and licorice and pepper in the finish. Slightly tart fruity notes in the aftertaste. WOW! Impressive!

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
From bottle. This is the second time I have had this. I bought it again when I had the chance because I enjoyed it so much the first time.
Pours completely opaque black with a beige head, but like many imperial stouts, takes vigorous pouring to bring up the head. Aroma is chocolate and roasted malts. Taste is dry, chocolate, roasted malts. Finish is very slightly bitter. There’s a lot of flavor here. Alcohol content is huge, but nicely hidden. You’ll feel it, though, at 11.5% ABV. This is as good as I remembered, and I’ll buy it again.
Love the brewery name and the label art. Love Clown Shoes!

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Served on tap at Brewdog Birmingham. A thick black liquid with low carbonation and a short lived white head. Aroma is strong dark fruits with a slight harshness. Alcohol is very present in the taste along with huge complexity of flavours. Aftertaste is a tad harsh with a slight alcohol burn and maybe a hint of burnt plastic but overall an excellent example of the style.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at BrewDog Dundee. A great imperial stout. Pours black with a thin head. Had this one after a Cocoa Psycho, so seemed quite sweet to me, but I could definitely taste some coffee in there, but mostly seemed dark chocolate n treacle...

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle with the boys at porch nite. Pours a rick very dark brown to black with a thin mocha head. Aroma is roast chocolate and slight dark fruit. Flavor follows with lots of roast. Very bitter - too much so. Very good but not fantastic. Lacked balance. Maybe needs more time aging.
