Bottle. Yes, this looks like a Russian Imperial Stout ... deep black with a reddish tinge, a thin tan overcast. The aroma is rife with sweet, bitter baking chocolate and alcohol. It drinks with a hint of fireplace smokiness asserting itself right up front. The roasted, bitter dark chocolate lingers in the back ground. Lots going on here, but doesn’t quite come together with the artistry needed to carry so much color. Then again, the more I drink the better it gets. (#4709, 7/26/2012)

Poured a pitch black opaque colour with a cream head that left thin lacing. Aroma is bitter dark chocolate, raisins, and roasted malts with hints of herbal hops and alcohol. Flavor is bitter roasted, chocolate malts with dark fruits. Medium-full bodied with an assertive malt bitterness that is backed by an moderate hop backbone. Prefer the Ohio Unidragon, but a tasty beer nonetheless.

UPDATED: APR 15, 2016 Poured from bottle dated 1/14/16 dark chocolate color with a cocoa head and nice lacing. Aromas of sweet dark fruit chocolate roasted malt and bitter hops. Taste is as expected roasty malt chocolate dark fruit and lingering hop bitterness and a nice warmth from the alcohol.

Bottle @ Café Albert. Aroma of chocolate, some sweet alcohol, roasted malt. Black with tan head, mostly lasting. Taste is moderate malt bitter, moderate sweet. Full body, thick texture, avg. carb., sweet burnt malt finish.

Bomber with commonmac during the final four. Dark plum black with lucious tan head. Smells boozy, sweet, dark fruit, tartness. Roasty, sweet, chocolate dark fruit. Long lasting complexity. Slightly bitter, drying and tarter mouthfeel than expected. Roasted malt sugar booze dominates. Not as creamy as I would have thought. Take care when riding this dragon.

22 oz bomber style purchased at Elevated and consumed during Final Four at the house of commonshawn. Deep black with half finger of tan head. Aroma features chocolate, dark fruits, almost a Mexican style mole, and a little bit of roasty/smoky quality. Taste has traditional characteristics of an imperial stout - chocolate, roasted malts, tart dark fruit/plum - but with plenty of complexity. There is a subtle smokiness involved. You can feel the alcohol warmth. Dark chocolate bitterness in the finish. Long lasting aftertaste. Overall, it’s a little less sweet than I expected but a good sipping beer. Definitely worth sampling when you have the chance.

Pours a black brown from a bottle. Tasting table sample. Roasty smokey chocolate smell is mostly overshadowed by smoke in the mouth, a little creosote in there. Offputting burnt licorice. Not my bag.

Pours black an oily with a tiny coffee head. The nose is toffee, malt, chocolate and a pleasant hint of hops. To taste this is deliciously complex with an amazing malt bill throwing up coffee, caramel, smoke, vanilla and dark fruits. The hefty alcohol is tempered by a good dosing of hops. Incredibly drinkable and a marvellous imperial stout.
