3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bomber purchased at Holiday Wine Cellar 21 months ago ($10.99). Pours black with some brown around the edges and an impressive 2.5 fingers of creamy light brown foam. AROMA of mildly roasted malts, roasted nuts, mild coffee, heavy toffee, and sweet fruit. FLAVOR of heavily dark roasted and ashy malts, sticky stewed dark fruits, bitter bakerís chocolate, and heavy dark coffee. I wonder if this is possibly lightly infected as the big fruitiness throws me off a little bit. The very high ABV is mostly concealed in the nose and mouth, but there is a noticeable burn as it goes down the olí gullet. Not a very nuanced impy stout and I do wonder if itís lightly infected, but it goes down easily enough which is a surprise considering the huge ABV. (502, 927)

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle; pours dark brown with a thin beige head; aroma is chocolate, licorice, coffee, and roasted malt; taste is bittersweet chocolate and coffee with some malt, licorice, and a hint of alcohol; finish is semi-dry; not bitter and pretty smooth; I have only had a couple of Clown Shoes beers but I really like the ones that I have had.

650cl bottle. Bbe 2014-12-17. @hotel room, Stockholm with the IT guru Jookos, ratebeer fame. Black, brown head. Coffee, dark chocolate in aroma, roastedness. Smooth stuff. Mild smoky, roasty, musty and quite dry. Long finish too dry, otherwise decent. Hides the abv decent.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
bottle. black, mocha head. black dark roasty fleshy. a green herby spine though. pretty intensive. full bodied, sort of a soft touch. just nicely bittered, wipes the excessive sweets off without drying the palate. coffee, roasty smokeyness. nice one. smooth, flavourful. nice palate.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22oz bottle. Pours dark brown, almost black with a tan head. Holy crap this is good. Thick velvety body with delicious chocolate, coffe and licorice notes that change flavors as it warms. A ridiculously high ABV that does not give off much burn or alcohol flavor (careful). Props as well for the name.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
"pretty nice brew. a little abrasive, perhaps, moreso because of the hops and overall flavor than because itís 12.5% (which is actually covered quite nicely). lots of chocolate malt flavor and aroma, coffee, molasses, and roast. smoother as it gets warmer."
