Sampled at slutfest 4.0. Malt bomb. Very dark brown pour with decent ring of light tan head. Caramel, chocolate, and light cocoa aroma. Flavors of the same plus lots of molasses and some weird note of sweet potato? Interesting. Very heavy and syrupy, but it was very enjoyable. Pretty cool though.

Pours near black with a big, frothy brown head. Nose is a bit like a stout, with lots of roast, hops, and a bit of bread and booze. Flavor also leans more toward a sweet stout that expected, with the coffee leading the attack, and a long, only mildly hoppy sweet finish lasting long. Booze comes out some but not too badly. Fairly interesting ale.

Bomber from Total WIne in Jensen Beach. Pours a very, very dark brown with garnet highlights and a tan colored head. Nice lacing that hung around forever. Aroma has molasses, dark chocolate and brown sugar, with an underneath layer of fruity/citrusy hops. Nice! Taste is of sweet caramel malts, with sweet cocoa, heavy bittersweet bakers chocolate, some nuttiness and some tingly spice at the tail. Medium thickness is all that stopped me from saying "sweet stout". Smells and tastes like a thin sweet stout, and a flavorful one. Finishes to the bitter side of bittersweet. No real alcohol presence in the drinking, just after the glass. Imperial brown, ’eh? It was a good tasty brew.

Hazy brown with an off-white head. Aroma is chocolate, dates, hint of wood. Medium body, sweet on the palate. Taste is chocolate, raisins, oak, chestnut.
4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 unclemattie (3735) - Georgia, USA - MAR 23, 2013
22oz bottle. Toasted malts & citrus hops aromas. Pours very dark brown, light tan foam. Nice biscuit nose, toasted character, sweet malt, earthy hops, and chocolate. HEAVY syrupy body. Very sweet, with sweet toffee, nuts, caramel, chocolate (sounds like a candybar), but then there is the hops. Very hoppy; earthy leather bitterness, pine, citrus rind, and resin. Finishes with a bitter chocolate flavor along with some wood. Very sticky. Very strong indeed. Its a frisky one. Overall, a very amazing (and strong) Imperial Brown Ale. Definitely a Brown Ale, not really gonna get a score as high as some American Strongs though.
