Bomber into a pint glass. Pours mahogany, with a dense tan head that lasts. Good lacing. Nose is hops and malt, and the taste follows. Malt up front gives way to moderate hop bitterness. Not what you’d expect from a brown ale-hoppier than the norm. Pretty good, but not outstanding.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Deep dark brown color with a touch of burgundy, about an inch of tight tan bubbles that evaporate pretty quickly; piny aroma with some dark chocolate, pecan shell. The flavor is fairly hoppy with a touch of toastyness, a bit of mild chocolate sweetness. The carbonation’s a bit prickly, the mouthfeel’s just south of heavy. It’s delicious but not a typical brown at all. More like a malty pale ale.

Buonissima interpretazione americana di brown Ale. Molto luppolata e abbastanza ruffiana. Non stanca mai.

Just too hoppy. Not a big fan of overly hoppy beers. More of a malt guy. ---Rated via BeerBuddy for iPhone.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark brown with a huge white head. Aroma of malts and caramel. Smooth body, taste of caramel and dark malts, sweet at first than balanced by hop bitterness. Very good ale.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Rating #1165 - 10.07.2014 - Bottle from CBI, enjoyed in a water glass at the Super 8 in Saskatoon. Dark brown pour with a weak bubbly tan foam that disappears quickly. Aroma is strong roast malts, hint of nutty sweetness. Really really light in body for a brown ale. Taste is bold roasty, light sweetness, dominant roast malt, well hopped character with a slightly bitter finish that is quite pleasant. Superb.
